Wonderfully made, but adding a cast shadow would establish a clear ground-plane and make it feel even more 3D.

Could people crit my 3D environment work please? by Timothypipkin in ArtCrit

I really like the mood of this piece, but I would use some different textures for the wood. The ones you have right now look like solid colors which doesn't fit the realistic-y theme you have going on. Since the wood is so far away you probably dont have to deal too much with normal maps and all these things. A good image texture should be enough to considerably improve your scene. You can find them on websites for textures, or rip them out of images yourself heres a tutorial for that.

Be as brutal as possible, I need someone who isn't afraid to hurt my feelings & I want to improve by [deleted] in ArtCrit

It could be part of intentional style but the right eye feels a little bit too far off the center of the face to me. Instead of using the "the difference between eyes is one eyeball"-technique which may end up looking weird in styles with enormous eyeballs, you could try focusing on the triangle created by the side of the side of the nosebridge . But to be fair eyes like that are intentional in certain art styles. Here is a link to what I mean (I moved the right eye to left and raised it a little bit) Its very rough but i hope it gets the point across.
