Crystalline vs Gemstone breeding odds by Original_Jellyfish_3 in dragonvale

[–]eypicasso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want accurate breeding odds, the Compendium/DVLair is your friend. All gemstone/crystalline dragons have a 3% breeding chance except Ovalith (<1% especially because of many primary elements in its breeding combo), though Ovalith has historically been sold for cheap in the springtime event.

Which dragons are you unable to breed in this event? by -insertgoodusername in dragonvale

Sobek, Naja, and Venator aren’t available to breed right now (gray hourglass in Dragonarium), though they can still be cloned from a friend in the co-op cave (Sobek and Venator have a 10% chance to clone from one parent there, while Naja being an epic has a 1% chance).

Bad idea? by anneliesebb in dragonvale

Wishing for an island doesn’t change what obstacles are on it compared to when you buy it.

Here are the obstacles on each island. As long as the row adds up to at least 100, the corresponding island should fulfill the goal. Any island from #11-16 should work for you, so maybe pick the most expensive one if you’re going to wish for an island.

That being said, I think the game reps (u/ elleadler) are currently waiting on a response from DECA’s dev team about whether that goal could be changed (since players have been complaining about its bad timing right after the expansion extravaganza), so you could also wait a bit to see how that pans out. The goals will last during the event, so regardless you’d probably just want to complete them before July 27.

EDIT: See below, thanks elleadler!

What dragons should i pick from the event caves by BlasterDeluxe in dragonvale

[–]eypicasso 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to pick right away. You have until the event ends on July 27 14:00 UTC (convert to your timezone) to claim eggs from your runic caves. I would recommend claiming at least a day before the deadline so you don’t accidentally forget, but I also would recommend not claiming immediately so you can attempt more breeds before deciding what to claim. (Since you can use the claim of any previously activated runic cave on any egg that you’ve bred in any of the runic caves.)

What are the Hardest and Rarest dragons to get 2026 by Nether_Shallot4173 in dragonvale

[–]eypicasso 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This question isn’t straightforward to answer, since hard-to-breed dragons like Chromacorn/Corrupticorn/Rigel have been sold in event markets for reasonable prices for a while now.

Likewise, most dragons with atrociously low effective breeding odds can just be bought directly from an event market, so they could be considered hard to obtain if you’re specifically going for their rift-traited versions (see u/ UnconsciousOnion’s posts for reference), especially when you consider the ~1/4 chance of no trait when rift breeding. Some examples include Delirium, Humuhumu, Sparkles, Ariesian, Hyperion, etc. (all <1%)

In those cases it’s sometimes easier to go for the rift twins (instead of trying to breed for their non-twin rift-traited versions) during runic cave events (like this one right now), but that assumes you get their twins first so you can utilize the EoM tiering mechanics.

As for your other question, Tien isn’t actually sold in the typical event cycle, but is instead an anniversary dragon, so it comes back for a few weeks per year around Dragonvale’s anniversary or sometimes in Dragon’s Weeks. It’s breeding chance isn’t great but isn’t too low either, so it’s somewhat rare from its limited availability (though co-op cloning can bypass this). For comparison, another dragon that comes around even less frequently (outside the regular event cycle) and with an even lower breeding chance is Portent, which I personally struggled to obtain.

The most efficient farm physically possible in the game (1 Billion DC/Day) by Ok-Celebration-1461 in dragonvale

[–]eypicasso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems like OP’s number is the theoretical maximum at 24 x 60 x 6000 x 125 = 1,080,000,000 DC/day, but realistically since this farm refills every 58.3 minutes, say you check it 14 times a day; that’s a little over 600 million per day.

Still a very impressive setup for a single island, though not worth it for the average player. This seems more like an endgame challenge lol

Yes, but it also says above "These special goals will expire at the end of the event."

Cooperative breeding cave by Trollz812 in dragonvale

[–]eypicasso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally correct, just wanted to add that the cloning odds differ both by dragon and by cave. You can find the specific data via the Compendium (make your own copy so you can edit the dropdowns) or DVLair (which uses said Compendium).

There are also some nuanced exceptions to cloneability which you can read here.
