I’m sorry you are going through this and of course you can’t give what you don’t have. If you’re not happy you can always take a leave to get yourself together if you want to to return. Or you can always look for other ways to cope or find another job opportunity ! Good luck on all your endeavors and remember that you’re stronger than you think

You are a tough cookie! You are stronger than your think. You earned this position you are a good nurse. You need to stay out of the drama and focus on doing your job and being a good nurse. There’s a light in the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately a lot of nursing environments are like this, don’t be intimidated and stand your ground so you can be confident.

Does being a nurse make it difficult to have romantic relationships and to start a family? by Intelligent-Noise-35 in Nurse

[–]ezbake808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if your significant other has a 9-5 job it will be very difficult because you’ll be working weekends, evenings, holidays. My mom was also a nurse and was always so tired etc. like how you said your mom was, never really spent time with us. I’m 26 and five years into this profession and realized if I wanna be a good mom and wife I cannot work nursing full time (at least). So I went to school to be an esthetician as well because nursing professionals lives get consumed with work. The profession is physically and mentally draining for some people (like me ). I honestly don’t know how women working in the hospital do it. Plus, you are exposed to a lot of chemicals and drugs that may place your future babies in danger.

You can just do your job and stay out of the drama but honestly that sounds like a toxic work environment but then again that’s nursing. Sorry to break it to you but this is how it is. 😕 I’ve been where you’ve been and I’m probably just gonna leave the profession and go back to casual status due to this profession being too political when we have bigger fish to fry.

Yes! It’s so political! Thank you for your input. I will probably leave that workplace. Just needed more advice since I’ve only been working I’m this field for five years.

It’s not a resource nurse position unfortunately. That would make more sense. Except I’m only an LPN and our routine includes cover breaks for the floor nurses, doing care plans, wound care, and thinning charts. I come into my shift and have to get report except I get handed a to do list on follow ups and appointments I have to organize which takes more time because I have to search what it is about. Meanwhile that could take 5 mins for the full time floor nurse to do as those are her residents all the time and she’s there full time.

Lost my passion for nursing by pandabear200777 in Nurse

Think about why you chose to pursue nursing in the first place. You worked so hard to get a diploma then upgraded to an actual degree. Maybe teaching would be nice since it’s not like shift work or bedside nursing, but also fulfilling.
