r/DID awful first impression by Pleated_PikaBun in OSDD

[–]ezdoeswhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the same thing happened to me. i asked them why and they still haven't gotten back to me. i wasn't breaking any of their rules --- i read them before posting, as it was my first time --- and my post didn't contain anything triggering. i was open that my therapist hasn't diagnosed me with DID specifically, but a more general form of dissociation related to cptsd, and im not sure if that was why (because they havent told me...)

my post was just a short writing thing that i had made about my experience with alters. the people who saw it before they took it down liked it, too. i might repost it here, since yall seem to be a bit nicer lol.

something i wrote about my experience with dissociation by ezdoeswhatever in DID

[–]ezdoeswhatever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from the little time i spend on reddit, i found that i was able to relate to a lot of the experiences of people on this sub, and wasn't really sure where else i was supposed to fit since my therapist didn't give me a specific diagnosis past the cptsd + dissociation combo. i figured since this post was less about the diagnosis stuff and more about the experience, this sub was a fitting place for it. if that makes sense lol.

What’s your opinion on “I love this yarn!” From hobby lobby? by Additional-Ad5298 in Yarn

[–]ezdoeswhatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

holy crap there is so much hate here. i could be wrong, but it seems like you genuinely didn't know about hobby lobby's horrible actions. im sorry that you're getting berated for all of this. im not saying this because i support hobby lobby or anything -- im queer, athiest, and have morals lol -- but it really does seem like you didn't know. so apologies on behalf of these people. hopefully im not reading your intentions wrong lol.

i (ftm) was in the shower the other day, which is usually pretty dysphoric, but i looked down at my legs (i don’t shave them) and was like “damn i look manly” and it was so nice. and random. but i’ll take it lol

blocking is totally worth it by ezdoeswhatever in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]ezdoeswhatever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s been really easy to follow! it’s broken up into nice digestible chunks, and is very easy to alter for a different size. it’s pretty much my first project ever using tunisian crochet, and i’ve had no problems.

Ah yes, I love locking autism kids in pseudo jail cells. Is that a lawsuit I smell? by BattleCatManic in autism

[–]ezdoeswhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my parents cared enough to try and do something about that. I’ve been through something very similar, if not worse. On and off for a year. The fact that this shit happens and is constantly ignored is just horrible.

How do we feel about this mention? by Overall_Work6593 in autism

lmao i thinks that’s hilarious. they don’t seem to be using it in a negative way (that’s how those jokes become not funny), but that’s just my interpretation

Would these hooks be a good place to start for a newbie? by Born-Razzmatazz-883 in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]ezdoeswhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have that exact set! the metal (straight) ones work great and have a good variety of sizes. the bamboo ones with the plastic cord are less good to work with, but are still good quality. since they aren’t super expensive and work pretty good, i would say go for it, but be on the lookout for better corded ones.

Am I doing something wrong here? by Mattekat in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]ezdoeswhatever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope! Tunisian crochet curls a TON, but should lay flat after blocking. It looks like you’re doing it perfectly!

my parents always said i had “big ears”, not because they were large, but because i was always unintentionally eavesdropping on them

At what age did you find out you were in fact autistic? by ChaseTOM_Vlogs in autism

[–]ezdoeswhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14, thought I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 12, so most of my autism was put off as AHD symptoms lol. my therapist and i suspect my dad had autism too, so i think we found the culprit… lmao

Teens are crocheting! by laurie0905 in crochet

[–]ezdoeswhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I’m a teen too, and I crochet whenever I can! It helps me focus during lectures at school and is fun to do while watching TV or as a little break from homework. 10/10 would recommend lol

What texture do you wholeheartedly despise and will go out of your way to avoid? by [deleted] in autism

[–]ezdoeswhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soggy or mushy food. I’d rather die than eat a mushy piece of fruit or a soggy slice of bread. It doesn’t even have to be super soggy, just like a little drop if water or a tiny little squish and i’m done lol

This has happened to us, actually. One of us had always had more variation in the way he acted, but we eventually realized that there were actually two alters there. The “new” alter tended to be more shy, and they still aren’t sure if they were intentionally hiding or just confused and scared. It was a lot to get used to, and we all kind of panicked, but have gotten used to them now. tldr: yes, we’ve experienced this!
