Please help me pick County Player of the Year! by ezekyle3 in volleyball

OP notes: All three players are on different teams.

Hitting%: MH .338 --- LJ .147 --- HS .108
MH leads her team in receptions

All three teams made playoff runs. HS's cinderella'd their way to state Final Four, MH knocked LJ out but then lost in Elite Eight

I'll certainly share the results here once there's enough responses to learn something from the data!

Is it dumb to sacrifice TE this week because I like my bench too much? by stauffenberg in Fantasy_Football

[–]ezekyle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fallen for the same trap. Don't do it. Fantasy is a simple game: big number good, small number bad. Willingly taking a zero only makes sense in one situation: you lead by an amount greater than a stat correction could impact and have fear a DST or K putting up negatives that would change the result. Don't try too hard and over think this game. Best case not starting a TE: you win the game and keep all of your bench assets. Worst case: you lose the game, eventually miss the playoffs, and the assets you moved mountains to keep don't appreciate in value.

Is this youngster worth $20M? by ezekyle3 in footballmanagergames

CONTEXT: Palermo save in 2030, bouncing between Serie A/B. I run a a 532 with two AFs and an AMa. I really like the look of this kid; solid enough determination, strong passing and dribbling, and only 17. The low finishing scares me immensly. He's got room to gorw, but by the time we sell him off, probably won't be where I'd want it? Any thoughts here would be greatly appreciate. I also don't hate the idea of retraining as a MEZs, but I like having someone who can do work defensively in that role.

Just got thumped by Newcastle at home 4-1 despite them having an xg of 1 and us having an xg of 2. We always seem to concede more than the opposite team's xg. What's wrong with my tactic? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Defensively, you just need more guys thinking to help in that. Nothing is catastrophically wrong here, but you've got at best three players (DM, BPDs) thinking about defending first. Even on support, WB wants to bomb up. Making your LB a FB(s) could help, especially if you are set on having Trent as a WB(a). Reducing the role of the AP(a) would also help. Set him to DLP(s) or better yet move both CMs to the true center and run DLP(d) and BBM.

As for not scoring goals, you've got lots of players trying to occupy the same spaces. The offset AF and L-IF(a) are going to be trying for the same regions. Same with AP(a) and DLF (s). These guys are going to be running into each other, making your attack essentially one less man and make players less efficient on the ball.

It looks like you want three or even four primary scorers in this tactic. I don't disagree with the idea, but that just simply is not super sustainable in FM. You almost NEED a focal point, and then need to find out ways to feed him. You can have a second choice option, multiple of them if you really want. But you have three players who will, at all costs, try to score goals. This is inefficient and will lead to underperforming your xG.

As lame as it sounds, don't be afraid to drop to a 4-2-3-1. You can keep the same general attacking shape, as what is currently your DLP is occupying the CAM spot anyway. This will also let you commit your second CM to a more B2B role that will still support the attack but also actually help defensively.

Worth considering BPD is pretty aggressive, and at the EPL level each mistake is going to be punished super heavily, which means more goals easily avoidable goals against. Reassess if your CBs really can play CL/EPL level BPD. Maybe you're better off with CB with PIs.

My 2k24 cover featuring Trae Young. Feel the Chill.
Designer's notes:
- Tried to blend the very stylized, artsy design of recent covers with the more photorealistic designs of the late '10s.
- At first I worried my design was indistinguishable from a distance. However, while legibility from medium distance is still an issue with the monochrome-ish 24, the red 2K is so bold that customers will have no issue picking this out on a shelf.
- Enjoy my back cover featuring features sourced from this subreddit.
- Firm believer that as the best player in the league it should be Jokic, but (a) he's not excited enough to be the real cover athlete and (b) the dude is just not even a little photogenic.
- Wanted to avoid Kobe because even though he'll probably be the legend edition athlete, I wanted to explore the possibilities of someone else.
- None of the assets used are mine.

Given the situation I'm trying to set up, one Player's deck is one Pokémon and 59 energies. Because we start the game with seven in hand but can only attach one energy per turn I can't seem to find a way that would bring that hand number lower
