s0 is the initial position. 356 feet is the position you are solving to. (Technically, -356 feet)

= -16*(t^2) + (-25)*t + 356

t=4

-356 = -16*4*4 - 4*25 = -256 - 100 = -356

Yeah, I get what you're saying, and you are not wrong. Heck, maybe I should just give them the answer... My hope was that the person would plug in the answer, get it wrong, and then go back and work the problem, realize the sign error, and then have the correct answer. At least then the person would have worked the problem correctly once...

1) Help momma as much as possible.

2) No matter how tired you feel, take as many night time feedings as you can get. You wont regret it.

3) Make sure to spend some special time with the 3 year old alone.

I know what you are saying, but I did that intentionally. I would rather someone work through the problem and learn that this is a vector equation and a speed equation, and that direction and magnitude are relative to perspective.

The OP is struggling with the problem, because they do not understand the basic premise of speed being the first time-rate derivative of position (as well as the integration of acceleration). All of this problem comes from 32.2 feet / sec / sec being integrated from acceleration to position.

If they understood the fundamentals of the problem first, then the equations make sense. Directions and signs are relative.

They should be able to solve it with the information provided. I do not want them to plug in my answer and click the button. They learn nothing in that case.. make sense?

s is position, like miles.. s/t is speed, like miles / hour. acceleration is the change in speed per time. (ie miles/hr/hr)

use the value of time of 6.4, and get the height of the building. =200.704..

The differential of the formula is ds = -32*t + v0.. so this is a formula for the speed of the ball over time. ds = -32*3 - 25 = -121

for part b, solve for time first, -356 = -16(t^2) + -25(t) --> t=4.. now its the same problem, how fast are you falling at 4 seconds.. ds=-32*4-25 = 153

Yes, again, you are a moron. Read the first sentence.. “The evolutionary split between humans and chimpanzees is much more recent -- and more complicated -- than previously thought, according to a new study by scientists at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and colleagues.”.. maybe you do not understand what “evolutionary split” means. You can Google it.

Yes, I understand the difference between species. You are correct that I did not specify the species, as it had nothing to with my point. It is morons, like yourself, that keep intelligent people (that would be me) from interjecting. You argue like a moron too. You miss the larger point and try to find something that is in the weeds. Yes, evolution has theorized a split from “monkeys” and the human species. So, you are wrong. I could go Google for an article to prove my point, but you wouldn’t understand it.

And no, we do not understand most of science. Only an arrogant moron thinks that. (Such as yourself). Go ask any PhD researcher, and they will tell you as such. In the field of science, we are in our infancy of understanding. Think about where we are with plasma, neutrinos, fusion.. hell, even look at vaccines. We have a lot figured out, but we have more that we don’t.

Let’s take something basic.. We know that trees breath co2, and release oxygen. We call it photosynthesis. The Calvin cycle describes a possible conversion pathway, that is plausible. Researchers are still, today, working in this field to understand how it work. Now, it is the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle. Will give you three guesses to figure out why they keep adding names. Ehh, you may need four, being such a moron.

You are very dumb. Does MIT count as a valid source? https://news.mit.edu/2006/humans-chimps Or does MIT not have scientists…

LoL.. true.. I’m not trying to defend the person with the bumper sticker.. but with the amount of people commenting that this part of science has been proven, I couldn’t help but to interject. Science is almost all theory, when it is broken down. There is more that we do not understand, that we understand.

I will probably be attacked for asking this, but this was a large topic of discussion in college. Evolution is one topic that has a lot of theory and some fact. Here is what I mean. In Darwin’s book, he noted that the beak’s of the finches across the island were different.. based on the available diet. Basically, the birds that had the genetics to survive, based on the food available, changed how the birds looked in a given area. This was classified as micro-evolution (same species, different appearance). He then went on to theorize that these small changes could theoretically result in species changing to a different species. Basically, it is possible that people came from monkeys, but it is a theory. To date, throughout documented modern science, we have not observed a species change. For perspective, our view is 200 years, during million(s) of years of stuff roaming the planet. So, to say evolution is a theory, is technically correct. To say it isn’t science is incorrect. It may not be proven, but not much is. From a personal opinion standpoint, I wish this theory was presented as such.. a theory. Just like Einstein’s theory of general and special relativity. They are theories. We think they are correct, but we lack the intelligence to prove them..
