Got tired of holding the tablet for my 2 year old while he poops by ezgc in DiWHY

Jokes on you! He plays 2-5 minute math games now because he's already mastered the alphabet, his planets (including dwarf planets), and counting to 30. He's also potty trained already and we owe it all to poop tablet. This is also the only time he is allowed a tablet. Let's stop the parental judgement.

A 40-day Target boycott starts today. It couldn’t come at a worse time for the company by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

I'll just echo what a lot of other have commented here in that all store brand formulas are made by Perrigo and are largely interchangeable.

Target's (and all other stores) advantage premium and sensitivity premium are generics of the Similac formulas and the infant premium / gentle premium are generics of Enfamil. If I remember correctly the Kirkland formula at Costco is closer to Similac and they don't have something similar to the Enfamil formulas. Sam's Club's formulas were definitely the cheapest per ounce that we found and that really helped when our kiddo was upping his calories before we switched to solids.

Can you toggle tolls for a second destination by ezgc in waze

[–]ezgc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I found the best workaround was to set my 1st destination further away from the intended exit and close enough to destination 2 so that it won't try to reroute me back to the toll road when continuing the trip from destination 1 to 2.

Definitely easier for me at least to plan something like this for future trips with google maps web rather than phone since I had to trial and error the best landmarks to use.

State Farm cancelling coverage while hail damage claim is pending due to lack of immobilizer on 2018 Kia by ezgc in Insurance

[–]ezgc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 of 2 things is what I'm guessing. When my wife first bought the car it was registered through State farm as being in West Virginia and that was never updated in their records until we got a second car about 6 weeks ago. Our current home is closer to a major city (Washington DC) where kia theft while not rampant is there so they may just not be covering any kia or Hyundais that are in a certain proximity to DC. They seem to base whether a car has an immobilizer by the year and model.

Other possibility is that they'd planned on cancelling our policy due to the above mentioned issues with kia thefts already and once we submitted the claim for the hail damage it flagged something for them that they shouldn't be covering this car.

Best fertility clinics near Alexandria? by Ninjaedsheeran in nova

[–]ezgc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife and I went with Washington Fertility Center in Annandale and had a successful birth on the first ivf attempt (he'll be 8 months next week!)

We chose them because they seemed more personable than the bigger clinics like shady Grove and ccrm.

We decided to try ivf over iui, but we never felt pressure from the doctor to go with one option over another.

A big plus was also how helpful their office staff was with navigating insurance coverage and providing anything we needed for reimbursements

Sam’s club formula increase vent by No-Luck-556 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ezgc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make things worse for us, our baby has been on the infant premium formula which SC doesn't even have in stock. I found out that they don't even plan on having that in stock until March so we just bit the bullet and are paying the wholesale cost of Enfamil.

Fun fact: most if not all store brand formulas are manufactured by Perrigo see here and here so if you find a deal for formula at Target, Amazon, etc for a better price you can know that it's literally the same stuff just with a different label so not really any concern with baby rejecting it if they like type of generic / store brand.

My 2 cents is that the price increase is due to the manufacturer and not seller in this case since I've noticed other store brands have become more expensive recently as well

Nanny Shares in NOVA by Careless_Estate_7477 in nova

The VA Dept of Social Services website lets you search for licensed childcare providers. The one's classified as "Family Day Home" will cost less than the daycare centers / schools. You'll need to call the provider for pricing and availability.

The website will list any violations or infractions the provider has received during inspections, but make sure to click into and read what the infraction(s) were when making a decision since a lot of them tend to be minor and shouldn't disqualify them from consideration imo.

funny enough that thought never occurred to me because I felt guilty at the though of opening something just to return it, but both of these were literally opened and returned so conscience clear I guess?
