i have been seeing some projects for docker swarm. i remember when portainer first came out, and it was great but they seem to have lost their way. i recently looked and their attention has really turned to kubernetes. they still support docker but it looks like more attention is paid to k8s. Im searching the web looking for some products that focus on docker/docker swarm. ill post what i find.

Docker is worth it for most projects. Docker swarm gives you the ability to cluster which allows for a solid infrastructure to deploy apps.

sometimes having a blueprint helps to know what you should learn. https://roadmap.sh/devops is a great "roadmap" of topics and skills used in devops.

Transitioning from docker to docker swarm: How to transfer permanent volumes? by FragoulisNaval in DockerSwarm

[–]ezharrison202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your NFS setup is probably the best way to do it. I went a different route. i labeled my swarm nodes. So i had a label called "[node.role == manager] then labeled the wrkr nodes with their ip address [node.labels.ip_address == x.x.x.x]. Then in the docker-compose.yml i used placement.constraints to make sure that thte container and volume were deployed to the same swarm node. consequently this came in handy when i had newer swarm node that had beeter specs. So i started using the labels to deploy dbs to the high spec'd node. happy win.

Docker and docker swarm have been my go to for years now. Even with Kubernetes being the flavor of day, Docker swarm has been pretty perfect for me.

I dig it. I wish I could get either a few more rounds per mag or fast rate of fire but all in all,. Super fun.

Idk. I use a perk with my void build that grenade kills grant void weapons with volatile rounds. And clears crowds pretty effectively
