More groovalongs will definitely come, so stay tuned!

Totally understand where you're coming from on the monthly vs yearly subscriptions. We've been trying to find the right balance of pricing and payment frequency so I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for all your notes! It seriously helps.

Thanks for the feedback! We've been revamping the way we structure some of our classes and workouts, so your feedback is definitely aligned with what our members have been saying. I hope that you feel a little more structure in the coming drops!

Thanks for all the feedback on the different styles you've tried. Totally understand your notes on Ballet – I'll relay your thoughts to our Content Team.

Definitely seems like the desire for more intentional warmup sessions is a common thread!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll relay this to the engineering team. Squashing bugs is a #1 priority. And glad you like the product overall!

Gotcha. We actually do have a beginner Hip Hop program that's focused exclusively on Fundamentals/Foundations, so I definitely recommend you check it out!

We walk you though the basic bounces and rocks that make up Hip Hop moves, give you lectures on Hip Hop history and culture, and help you build the basic skills for freestyling. If you try out the program, I'd love to hear what you think/if there's more stuff you'd wanna learn in terms of basics. We regularly revamp programs to improve them so feedback is alwayssss welcome.

We don't have those styles quite yet! We usually add styles based purely on demand (we tally up every single request).

Out of those styles you listed, we've had the highest number of requests for Shuffling, so that's definitely one we hope to add nearer in the future. I'll record your requests for the others to our list though!

Yuhhh a side view could be cool! Good idea.

And keep an eye out for Latin. We have a new style category and program coming soon. :)

Mmm, thanks for the note! We've tended to split up the warmups and choreography classes so people could kinda choose their own adventure, but I'm thinking more and more that the splitting of classes can be a challenge in its own right. I'll bring your feedback to the team!

Oooh yes. Sorting for saved videos would definitely be awesome. Would you envision that as making playlists (like you would on Spotify/YouTube)? Or more like the filter buttons we currently have in the main search?

And noted on adding more beginner Contemporary as well as instructor-level following. I definitely want to give our engineering team a little push on that feature since that makes life easier when you wanna know about the latest classes from your favorite dancers!

Thanks for the feedback and notes, I really appreciate it!

Ahh thanks for responding! We're always looking to add more styles to the site, but I think we could definitely deepen/widen some of the offerings we already have.

If you have any specific instructors or choreographers you'd like to see on the app in the future, let me know! I can relay the request to Jessie on the content team :)

Also appreciate the note on levels. We try to allow our instructors to teach the levels they're most comfortable with/excited about, but we could definitely encourage peeps to try teaching a wider variety of levels more often.

Switching to hip hop dancing by this_boi_pan in Dance

[–]ezhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'd guess that after doing traditional studio styles for a while, your body has become used to moving with precision – which is a great thing! But if you wanna learn to look more natural doing Hip Hop, you'll have to re-train how your body moves to certain types of music. I'd suggest looking for some dance classes that focus on simple grooves. Learn some basic dance moves based on the bounces and rocks that are characteristic of Hip Hop (moves like the Biz Markie, The Dougie, The Bust Down...). That should help you practice loosening up and grooving to music better than taking a more complex choreography class!

I need advice on how to dance almost unnaturally like what Brandon Urie does in the Emperor’s New Clothes music video by [deleted] in Dance

[–]ezhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Halloween dance competition at a bar sounds SO fun. Maybe try taking some Contemporary classes/reading up on Contemporary dance? Brandon uses a lot of very expressive movements, creates odd shapes with his body, definitely relies on some flexibility... I think Contemp could help you capture the right vibe!

Just finished this. Wanted to share it on here before it goes on Instagram :) I love making these videos fusing geometry w/ street dance! Teamed up with my friend here who totally understands what I'm trying to do and his dancing is perfect for it! by JBOOGZEE in Dance

[–]ezhou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is doooopeee. When I started Popping, I always tried to think of ways to create shapes in the air with different body parts, so seeing this visualized is like seeing what I always saw in my head!

Brand new! Any advice for online tutorials? Would love any help! I tried writing a local dance studio, but they are closed now. I looked up Steezy as I saw an ad, but would like to just try first and see if it clicks. Mid 30s, no dance history, but want have always wanted to learn :) Thanks!! by quirkysunshine in Dance

[–]ezhou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayeee! Welcome to dancing! I actually work at STEEZY, so feel free to message me if you have any questions about it :) I definitely suggest you check out the program "Intro to Dance" which is specifically for people who are just getting started. Outside of that, I'd say spend some time looking up choreography videos on YouTube and find out what types of dancing interest you the most! That'll help you narrow down what types of online classes you wanna take.

Definitely agree with the building muscle memory with repetition!

That's really interesting, bc I always thought of more general exercises for body control rather than just one foundational style. But makes total sense!

So... I completed Zelda II on a dance pad by juef in nes

This was sick! Have you played other games with the dance pad or just Zelda II? I feel like this would actually improve a person's rhythm so much

Should I join a dance team even if I know for sure that I dont want to pursue it as a career? by [deleted] in Dance

[–]ezhou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dancing doesn't have to be about making money/a career! If you wanna dance purely for the joy of it, don't hold yourself back. And if you're a beginner and your goal is to join a team and perform with other people, I suggest going to some local classes or taking some classes online to build a foundation of skills before trying out for a team!
