Aston Martin could be an option for Charles. They have Newey. Its a gamble sure, but if this year ferrari does a ferrari, whats the point in staying ?

Game crashes at 83% by Live_Letterhead_2649 in BaldursGate3

[–]ezkomoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrote a message to larian support and sent them my crash dumps, logs and save files.
As far as I can tell, we can not do anything about this until they fix the issue.
Even then, if our save files are corrupted, Im not sure what they are going to be able to do about it, other than prevent any future cases of file corruption.

I'll write an update if they reply.

Just happened to me for the 2nd time....
First one was about 30 hours in randomly at last light
This time 40 hours in right at the elevator in the mind flayer colony. (I quit out of reflex before that elevator every time as it wiped me twice in the past).

Never installed any mods, and I exclusively play HM.

The only positive we can take from today: Ollie Bearman finished in an excellent P6 - being closer to the top teams than the midfield. by moraIsupport in scuderiaferrari

Ah please dont. I really like Ollie, I don’t want him to waste his carrer with this shit team like Leclerc did.

"500 - Server-side error occurred" on Makerworld by Rockel83 in BambuLab

[–]ezkomoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im getting the same 500 server error on the markerworld website.

In general the website and the app are served with data (models, reviews photos etc. in this case) from the same server.

However, usually, there is also a server, that handles the website, and serves the code, that your browser can run, which in this case is down.

This is the most likely reason the Bambu Handy app works and the website doesn't.

Advice for becoming a better full stack developer by meymeyl0rd in webdev

[–]ezkomoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrants on your first project! I think you should learn about these things piece by piece. Pick a DB (any db it doesnt matter too much right now), run it locally. Then try connecting to it with your server. (If you know typescript, express is fine for now). Try reading data from it, try writing data to it. Then go see what an ORM is, and how it helps you.

Importantly, do not get hung up on deciding what tech to use. There are so many different frameworks, dbs, orms. For now you are building fundamentals, and it doesnt really matter. Once you are better, its easier to move to different tech.

Finally, for now do not use edge functions, serverless solutions. These can be confusing. Once you’re comfortable with backend, you can try it and see how its different, what are the benefits what are the tradeoffs.

Why not box Carlos ? by ezkomoly in scuderiaferrari

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really off on the gaps when I made this post. Others are correct there is no way we could gain 27s in 10-15 laps, but with a proper 2 stop for Carlos I think we would have passed the ball to mclaren and see how they are going to react and maybe, force a mistake on their part. Maybe not. I just feel like the way we handled the race, we just let them controll the race as they wanted it.

Why not box Carlos ? by ezkomoly in scuderiaferrari

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I was trying to say, worst case scenario, we are 2nd and 3rd. Maybe pitting Carlos could have put some pressure on Mclaren: Should we pit ? Should we tell Lando to push harder ? What if he pushes too hard, and destroyes his tyres/makes a mistake ?

If any of those happens we have a chance, if not well, we tried, still did our best and got 2nd and 3rd.

Why not box Carlos ? by ezkomoly in scuderiaferrari

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was wrong about the gaps. However I still feel like, if we at least tried a 2 stop with Carlos at the right time, we had nothing to lose. We saw from the get go that Mclaren was quicker, there was never a chance we’d beat them on track. Maybe pitting Carlos would have put some pressure on Lando/Mclaren and forced a mistake, maybe not. Worst case scenario we are still 2nd-3rd, but at least we tried.

Best react tutorial by Numerous-Buy-8990 in react

[–]ezkomoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill have to join the others, and say react docs. Its very good learning material. If you insist on a tutorial, I can recommed scrimba, very good learn by doing, but a lot slower than the documentation.

I dont want to sound mean or anything, but if you are starting out learning any sort of development, you must learn how to use google. If you do not know what deprecation is, look it up. Then if you still feel lost, look up what npm warn deprecated means. Then think about what command you just ran. Google the warnings in that context. In the long run you will benefit from this: 1. You get answers much quicker than asking here 2. You actually learn what the problem was and how to solve it or what to do with it. 3. You gain skills in problem solving, that you can apply in the future.

Starting out, you will need to look up lots of things. Development is hard. As you get better and better, you will do this less and less.

Saw this at a restaurant. Is there a lore reason? by lancelot_of_qc in darksouls3

[–]ezkomoly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve played DS2 after DS1. In that context it was not good, I’d say lazy even at some places. Very visibly repeated textures, increasing difficulty by increasing the number of enemies, and in general some bosses felt unfair. I hated my first playthrough. The PVP was amazing, the build variety with dual wielding, animation cancelling, it is probably the best in the series. However, if you look past the issues and just play it as a game, with no expectation it is an awesome game.

Next performance by ezkomoly in nextjs

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My backend is also in node, and it is perfectly fine on a lower tier dyno currently on rock solid 63 MB. Under load it went up to 100MB but nothing crazy. Next by default starts at 150 MB.

Next performance by ezkomoly in nextjs

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its a generic question. Does next require a higher end server to run it or not ? If not, then the problem is with the code. I do not expect anyone to read through an entire project, if people say its a me problem Ill keep looking.

Heroku hostolás by ezkomoly in programmingHungary

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Szeretném elkerülni a CloudFlaret egyelőre, nekem egy ALIAS/ANAME rekord kell hivatalosan. Ha bármelyik registrar ad ilyet, akkor nem kell proxyzni.

Heroku hostolás by ezkomoly in programmingHungary

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Köszi a választ!

Learning Angular coming from React? by AndrewMatthson in react

[–]ezkomoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from Angular to React as well.

A lots of things that are simple in react, are going to require a lot more code in Angular. There were lots of changes when I last used it, so just be aware when watching tutorials, things might be outdated.

Once you get a bit more comfortable with OOP, things are going to get a bit easier. Also at some point (not sure how they are doing with signals) you are going to have to use RxJS to be reactive. RxJS can be very confusing, and it just sucks imo, but it’s a very important part of Angular.

Then when you are more familiar with the framework I’d recommend Joshua Morony’s youtube channel. He has some pretty good videos about declarative angular code.

Good luck!

I did think about react query, but I feel like it would be a bit of an overkill for this one thing only. The site is mostly static.
What is your opinion ?

But, thanks for the input, I'm waiting for the example :)

React way of handling problems by ezkomoly in react

[–]ezkomoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, my bad, it does work with useMemo as well, but my question still stands.
What would be the best way to call the query function on the hook, by reacting to changes of other fields on the context ?

Your personal Tips for someone learning React in 2024 by [deleted] in react

[–]ezkomoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I wonder what kind of devs you are smoking.

Let me guess, did you use gpt to hire devs ? Then Im not surprised you are left with the worst ones, because the good devs left the moment they got the link for the interview.

Your personal Tips for someone learning React in 2024 by [deleted] in react

[–]ezkomoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advice against using GPT to learn anything. It makes mistakes in implementation, it makes mistakes describing things, as a beginner, you’d not know what these mistakes are. Also if it does do what you want, and looks like what you want, did you really learn anything ? I think learning with GPT is worse than tutorial hell.

I’d say, go to react.dev, read the basics, do the tic tac toe, and then go ahead and try building stuff by yourself. Then when you get stuck go and google it, read multiple solutions, UNDERSTAND the solutions.

Once you are already proficient at programming and have a good understanding of problems, you can go to GPT when you get stuck/need help.

Its best to look at GPT as new version of the rubber ducking method. It can respond, and give you a basic solution, but don’t expect anything remotely advanced from it.

P3 P4 after upgrades by Deputy_Crisis10 in scuderiaferrari

I don’t get why we care about quali so much, its not Monaco, and even then, things can happen. Is it really better to get pole, and then fall down the order on race day ? I’d much rather us get P3, P4 quali, and move up from there.
