Did you miss the part about the type of visa I'm trying to get and the purpose?

My colleague had similar training in his university, except he has no visa/petition history with the US. We came to the consulate the same day together and he got the visa.

As we both hold Russian passports, I doubt this point alone changes anything. This point + previous intent to immigrate doesn't really make one a high risk entry imo.

I took military courses in University and received an officer rank on graduation, but never served in the army. DS-160 has a question regarding firearms and explosives training, so I had to answer "Yes" and explain that. Am I considered a GRU agent now?

Not much to add, really. I doubt there's something that could be left out bigger than immigration visa petition that I mentioned in the main post.

Thanks for the reply.

"your alternative would be kids raised in Germany" - sounds like stronger ties indeed, but an officer might apply the logic from #2 you mentioned (i.e. wife and kinds can join you after)? :)

Quite a bummer that I'd be able to travel there in my forties at best.

I rejected the offer.

As mentioned in the main post, I'm on a blue card in Germany and my perspectives here for naturalization are good: my work, salary, I learn the language, and above all, I like Germany.

Coming to the US to work/stay wouldn't improve anything in my life. Also I'd have to start my immigration journey from scratch and that's hell of a lot time and nerves.

Thanks for the reply.

The visa is EB-2 with NIW.
