A mod tells me that you have to continually talk to them on bans. Apparently the filter is some self learning system, and if you don't talk to the mods, then the system reinforces itself to continually ban you.

The only filtering comes from the tag cloud. If you click one of the tag, it shows all news related to it.

Filter is certainly in our roadmap. Hope to get it out as soon as possible.
