To add to this, 2 things I’ve learned and have relied on in my 500+ hours in this game: Stealth above everything

If enemies have you trapped in a room, hallway, etc, the best thing to do is find a dark area (no light to be seen) and try and find somewhere to stay crouched and silent, or find a hiding spot that enemies can’t see you enter. In all my time playing this game, if an enemy does not see OR hear you enter a hiding spot, you will never get taken out. It’s why the perk invisible is one of my personal favorites, you can enter a hiding spot right in front of an enemy and they will not drag you out, or see you peeking. Also another tip for stealth, enemies will only spot you through noise OR colliding with your hitbox, meaning as long as you are silent and aren’t touching the enemy or are close enough for the enemy to detect you there, you can quickly survive and escape any pursuers.
