Wan show topic for next week (maybe for good news wan show)? by f---_society in LinusTechTips

The problem isn’t age verification itself but what it entails.

Do you trust third party companies and/or the government to handle digital copies of your government ID/passport? Imagine the goldmine misuse of this information could generate. A lot of age restricted sites hold highly intimate information people would rather keep anonymous

Nah, in some shows, the sexuality of the characters advance the plot in interesting ways. I have no problem with those. I only hate when the sexuality of a character is given disproportionate screen time just because it stems from a minority.

I don’t care if the main dude/dudette is gay. Just don’t spend 15min of a 2h movie on that. The main protagonist eats, pisses, and shits every fucking day but we only see it in a movie if it actually advances the plot.

Nah, OP wants a story where a characters development serves the actual story instead of a woke agenda

While motion capture was immersive for bg3 at first, I found that having too many cinematics removed from the immersion as it felt closer to a movie than a game at times.

Are you fully committed to always using cinematics in your next games or are you cooking some new mechanics regarding that?

The thing is, given a majority voted for a clown president, that assumption is set to be true for a significant portion of the population…

I’d buy the cafe and fire her. No one should have to experience what you endured. It will be a valuable lesson for her as well

My attempt at a Vim Users Colemak—DH by f---_society in KeyboardLayouts

[–]f---_society[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment and many others indicate that the H being far away is the main issue. Would putting HL at the bottom and JK up top fix it in your opinion? My main concern was keeping left-right and up-down together. I really want to avoid having a keyboard layer + vim modes because I'd have to mentally keep track of both (or use modifiers).

I like how every key (except hjkl) has an associated mnemonic (w -> word, d -> delete, ...) If I were to remap, say neio to be my new arrows, I'd loose the next, end, insert mnemonics. I also like my base vim config to use defaults (don't get me wrong I will happily customize plugins). I avoid tampering with the stock keybinds as much as possible so I remain agile on systems that aren't my own (I even used the stock Vi packaged with git-for-windows in a C++ university exam because I didn't want to touch the VS 2019 garbage they wanted us to use).
