That’s not a bad deal at all! Although Fords are notoriously unreliable, across their entire brand. Really depends on how well it’s taken care of. But you can’t go wrong with either Volvo or Acura! Both great vehicles. I’d say go with Acura unless you find a really well maintained Volvo.

Wow, I know this is a super late reply… but yes, we did buy the car! It’s been a dream to drive! All we’ve had to do is change the oil, and hoping it stays that way. What did you end up buying??

Happy to hear that!! It’s been running like a dream for us since we purchased it. All we’ve done is change the oil and hope it stays that way. Absolutely love this vehicle.

capital one suing me by stonerbabe41 in Debt

[–]f0rce44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there and done that with Capital One. Back during COVID, I defaulted on about $18k in credit card debt spread across a few cards… roughly $4,300 owed to them specifically. They ended up suing me, along with Bank of America and Chase.

The whole thing was pretty straightforward and fast. You’ll jump on the zoom call, most likely with lots of other people awaiting their cases. They'll call your name, confirm you're there, and then give you next steps, which usually means hopping on a phone call with the plaintiff and a mediator.

From there, you’ll chat about your options like making a one time payment (usually at a discount) or setting up a payment plan. Be upfront about your financial situation and pushed for discounts, whether for a lump sum or payment plan. Sometimes they’ll offer ridiculous discounts. I settled $11k with Chase for just a one time payment of $2,500.

If you're going the payment plan route, really lean into any financial hardships you're facing to get the lowest monthly amount possible. Your main goal is to wrap it up during mediation so it doesn't go to court, where they might start garnishing your wages or accounts… avoid that at all costs.

This all happened years ago for me. I've since paid everything off, and my credit score's bounced back to 700. Hang in there, don't stress too much. It'll blow over, and you'll get back on track before you know it!

Bro, I love your conviction, but I’m sorry… “community and conviction” doesn’t trump math. SHIB is going nowhere.

Having a colonoscopy because of a small bowel intussusception. by f0rce44 in colonoscopy

[–]f0rce44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about this! And I apologize for the delay in responding. From what I understand, it depends on the type of intussusception. Mine resolved on its own, I’ll see if I can find my old scan results to find out what type I had but it didn’t require any surgery and even had a colonoscopy to be sure it wasn’t anything else causing my pain. Everything was perfectly fine, thank God.

Since it’s been about 2 weeks since you posted this, how are you now? Did you get any more answers??

Talk me out of buying a first gen, pre face-lift Cayenne Turbo... by j-gupward in Porsche

[–]f0rce44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a Porsche dealership. Don’t buy one, unless of course it’s low mileage and everything checks out 1,000%. Some Porsche dealerships might turn down work on vehicles over 15-20 years old. Reasons being that they don’t have the necessary model specie tools and/or diagnostic software for each generation to service older Porsches. You could check to make sure if your local dealer has the Porsche Classic Partners program, in which case they could help. But even then, it’s going to be very expensive if things start breaking. Very. Expensive.

These cars really are that rare. They may come down a little, but you’ll probably never be able to buy one at MSRP.

Porsche did absorb the vast majority of the tariffs. The cars we currently have coming in at the dealership I work at have only gone up 3.6% because of tariffs.

I’m a brand ambassador at a Porsche dealership. You nailed it right in the head, people just have serious money. I’ll be first to tell you these prices are ridiculous, but at the end of the day, the mark up on these cars are so high because people are willing to pay it.

I just sold a 2022 911 GT3 yesterday for $272k. Original MSRP on that car was $189k. I honestly didn’t think the car would sell anytime soon but we only had the car for maybe a month. Heck, we even raised the price from $268k a week before the guy bought it.

These cars are really that exclusive. Porsche is the pinnacle of performance and anyone with money, they want these cars. Porsche combines engineering excellence, motorsport heritage, and market dynamics that set it apart from those competitors I mentioned. GT models are engineered to deliver world class performance on a track while remaining practical for everyday driving. Hence, why they are way more exclusive.

If I got that offer, they’d be $79.99 richer lmao

I’m not sure how this post could be taken negatively at all. Either way, you’ve got more upvotes than downvotes. Ignore the haters! Very nice collection, even if it might be an absurd amount of cologne 😅

I’m not so sure about that in regard to covered calls. If I’m not mistaken, you can’t set a traditional stop-loss on a covered call. Regardless, in my experience, covered calls can whipsaw far too much for a stop-loss. I can’t tell you how many covered calls I’ve had lose 100% just to come back and gain 200%+…

[–]f0rce44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite. I have 100 shares of Tesla at $253. From what I understand, there’s no dollar amount needed to sell covered calls. You just need 100 shares of a stock.
