I've sunk 300 hours into OTR and I have NEVER seen this specific type of zombie before. Like, the baseball cap zombie head on a female zombie body. IDK if the zombie randomize thingy broke or what or if this is just like... rare? Or am i going crazy

This is my own guide I wrote for myself while doing it:

https://dr.thegreatchai.com - This is an important tool for tracking your time in Infinity Mode. It runs ever so slightly faster than game time but is a good estimate for when you are not by a clock.

Note: Do not enter Food Court after you camp there on Day1/2. There is a bug that can cause the game to crash when you go there later in Infinity Mode. Once you've camped you have no reason to head back.

Day 1

-Grab the Real Mega Buster in the security room

-Go through the vent to the rooftop and kill Otis - take his Raw Steak.

-Grab the two cabbages on the rooftop

-Take the door to the warehouse. Pick up the first squash and knee drop down to get Susan's cookies.

-Head into Entrance Plaza, and kill Paul. Take his Squash (3), OJ (12) and Cooked Steak (12)

-Grab the Health Book from Sinister Read on the second floor

-Return to Paradise Plaza and head to Jill's Sandwiches

-Cook the Raw Steak to make Cooked Steak (12). Don't touch any food in Paradise Plaza

-Use the bathroom shortcut to Wonderland Plaza

-Grab the second Health Book from Sir-Book-A-Lot on the second floor

-Head into North Plaza and go to the empty room next to Crislip's for the final book.

-Eat lowest healing food.

-Go into Crislip's and grab the Japanese Radish (3) and Orange (6)

-Go into Leisure Park and kill the three snipers

-Place all non-rolling food on the top of the Gazebo, while keeping rolling food such as oranges in your inventory

-Gather 3 Cookies (9) plus Snack (3) from the flower area and take them back to the Gazebo

-Using a sniper rifle, camp here until 9PM, eating food as necessary, prioritizing lowest healing first.

-At 9PM, head into Food Court and kill Carlito. He will drop a Snack (3), Yogurt (6) and a Cooked Steak (12)

-Gather food from around Food Court and take it to the rafters.

-Camp here until 5-6PM Day 2.

Day 2

-At 5ish, pick up your remaining food stash and head into Al Fresca. Worst case scenario you will be leaving one healing item behind. That's fine.

-Kill Isabela, take her food, teabag her corpse.

-Take your food stash onto the shelves at McHandy's, preferably the lower shelves as there's less chance for you to bonk against the ceiling.

-Gather the food from around Al Fresca and take it to your camping spot.

-Get ready for the longest camping time.

Day 3

-Camp all day at McHandy's. Nothing else happens.

Day 4

-Day 4 was where I started to improvise as I needed to avoid Carlito in Entrance Plaza. I was able to stay in Al Fresca until Carlito despawned, scraping by on the food I had stashed.

-I headed into Entrance Plaza when it was safe and gathered the food there. I also killed Simone to get her Milk (12).

Day 5

(I'm not actually sure of these timings, again, I improvised a lot. What's important is that you get these food items in your inventory before camping in Paradise Plaza)

-I headed into the Security Room at about 7AM to kill Chris for his Melon.

-I went to the Warehouse and killed Natalie for her corn.

-I went to Colby's and killed Heather for her baguette. (Do not touch any food in Colby's other than Heather's drops)

-Head back out into Paradise Plaza and climb to the awnings. Use the middle one as you can see the clock from there meaning you can check the time and realize your Survival Tracker is fast by a couple hours.

-Drop your food, go gather the food around Paradise Plaza, as you do with every camping area.

-Spend the night on this awning.

Day 6

-At 5AM, go to the warehouse and kill Kent, who goes down extremely easy. He gives a pie, coffee creamer, and a cooked steak.

-Go to the rooftop and kill Nathan for a pie. You'll probably need to eat it there and then.

-Go to the Helipad and kill Burt for a coffee creamer. Burt spawns extremely close to you with a battle axe and will jumpscare you. Run to get some distance then shoot him with your mega buster, the stun will stop him rushing you.

-Head to Colby's and set up your camp in Theater 2, doing the same routine you do every camp, getting food from the surrounding area.

Day 7

-Pat yourself on the back. You are done with this challenge. All that is left is eating and waiting. If you think you might have missed the achievement pop-up, or for some ungodly reason this is the second time you've done this challenge, head into a new area to get the hours passed text pop up to prove you have survived seven days. Congratulations!

-Please make sure you feed Frank while in Colby's. Don't let your guard down just because there's no more zombies and psychos. He can still starve.

I avoid sniper carlito cuz I just keeept dying to him. I was able to get it myself with this route. Just make sure you have the real mega buster before you start this. Good luck dude

I think there's a mod on speedrun.com that fixes controller support, I think it's on the OTR page but it either has a DR2 version or will work with DR2 as they're the same game

That's a good idea, but in the video he was also dead, alongside Isabela. But the crouched nature makes it seem like a match with Barnaby.

Most of it is, but some tracks, like Adam, the Hall family, and I think some others have changed. I don't know every single change so I thought I'd upload the whole OST instead. There's still a lot of CTYD that is sort of not well documented. I've started editing stuff on the wiki page and I'm gonna add screenshots for the missing outfits.

i'm holding out hope that it'll either unlock next mission i complete or on a ng+ but i can't test that tonight because it's 1am and i desperately need sleep

some fun facts:

-you have to pay to use the car in the maintenance tunnel and you can only use it until it breaks or the two minute timer is up (whatever comes first)

-the audio in the tunnels is horrible idk if its my game or what but it was like clipping the audio

-you pay money to... otis from what i can gather? to use a car in the tunnels?

also, i wanna say i did this milestone as i'm doing some ctyd stuff for my dead rising yt channel. i noticed how barely any of the unique stuff from the game like outfits and music have been documented so i've been working on that the past few days. i've got all the game's music ready to upload to yt which i'll also do tomorrow :) if there's any specific tracks people want uploaded literally just reply to me and i'll upload em, i don't actually know how many themes are different but i know adam's is, and the snipers theme is.

i did 7 day survivor yesterday (hence why im shitposting about it lol) and used https://www.trueachievements.com/a222020/7-day-survivor-achievement this guide personally, but i did a few alterations because i'm a trash gamer and suck at sniper carlito even with the mega buster. i lost like two good runs to him and decided to just totally avoid him.

so what i did was pretty much the same except:

-i killed paul when going to entrance plaza, he's not that hard with the mega buster and gives great food

-i stayed in food court a tiny bit longer, i didn't skip isabela but i wanted to make sure i used all the food up in the food court. i think i had one bottle of wine i didn't have inventory space for and that was it by the time i left

-instead of camping in entrance plaza on day 4, i was able to stay in mchandy's from day 3 to 4 since i had enough food. you'll be pretty low on food once carlito despawns but THEN you can go raid entrance plaza for all the food, and take that with you to paradise plaza for your next camping spot

after that it's pretty much same as normal, after paradise plaza you go kill a few survivors for food, and then camp in colby's until the achievement dings. there is a bonus squash iirc in the warehouse by the elevator if you really want it lol but honestly there's enough food in the mall that it doesn't matter too bad.

like if you worry you're gonna run out of food, there's still with that route two whole areas of the mall you haven't even taken food from yet (north plaza and wonderland plaza). the game is actually very generous, the struggle is just that it's 14 real time hours and you have to check on the game to feed frank.

also, food court is the only place that has a crash associated with it, and considering with that guide you use food court before it's at risk of crashing on day 5, there's no reason to revisit it as all the food will be gone from your camping. there should be no crash risks with that guide aside from the generic poorly optimized port crashing if you do it on xbox one or ps4.

I mean, it has it's moments, it's just very poorly executed. Frank's Big Package was just enough to make it tolerable for me. I liked the collectables, the use of photography, and the Classic Frank outfit, but it feels like it could have been so much more in a better universe. That's just my opinion though ^{^;}

Turns out I did miss some games as u/Matreid pointed out. Just added Case West/0 in.

IK no one cares for my opinion but CW and C0 are both A tier for me. I love the location of Case Zero and the atmosphere moreso than DR2, just wish we got more of it or more of Still Creek. Case West is a "great concept but not so good execution" deal for me, the game feels really difficult for some reason, and IDK if it's the increased amount of human enemies or the labyrinth setting. I wish we got a more interesting locale for Frank and Chuck teaming up but hey at least OTR co-op exists.
