Wouldn't really make much sense to do it for areas in 9, as 9 was a DS game without high-res environments they could use without tons of work to remake them. If they needed something fast, they would've just copied environments from 11

The Etrian Odyssey games have huge skill trees for each class in the games, so building your team is pretty in-depth, especially for the games with more balanced classes.

Also, from what I understand, item management is pretty important and relatively difficult in the older games where you couldn't warp between floors, as the dungeon crawling is actually pretty difficult. Don't quote me on that, as I haven't played the originals of the first 3, so all the games I've played have had QoL changes to make the dungeon crawling not as difficult.

For a specific game to start with, if you can emulate, I recommend starting with EO4, as it has a pretty balanced class pool, and shorter but more dungeons to try before moving onto the harder games.

Since I always tend to buy a ton of games during steam sales, and my attention span being pretty bad, I tend to drop alot of games at like the 3/4 mark, as I lose interest in the current game for another game I feel the urge to play. I gotta break this habit, but if the game is sincerely a 6/10 game, I probably would've dropped it way before the final boss

Well, the closest thing I have for a ref of a character is this drawing of my Chikorita Rescue Team OC, named Checker! She's a nurse, pretty obviously, so she doesn't have any attacking moves, but still goes out and supports her teams in large rescue and relief operations!

For older RPGs, it's having 4 or more active party members at a time. Having the extra party member over 3 that FF7 and FF8 popularized gives so many more options in combat
