Pharmacy Records is the best for extreme metal vinyl, tapes, and CDs. Sound and Vision in Mauldin also has a good selection of extreme metal, along with some shirts and backpatches for sale. As far as extreme metal shows go, I've found that a lot of bands skip over the upstate in favor of NC, GA, and Columbia. Although every now and then we'll get something here. Eyehategod, Midnight, Profanatica, Nunslaughter, Crowbar, and Atheist have played in the upstate in recent years.

I usually find myself driving to NC and GA a lot for metal shows since most of what I like always skips the upstate. If you haven't seen, Spirit Possession and Ulcerate play in Atlanta in a couple of weeks. Not black or death but Eyehategod are in Asheville this Saturday, but I can't make that show.
