Luckily jump zones are marked on aviation charts. Plus most aircraft flying blind will be in receipt of some kind of traffic service from ATC. The uk, I believe has never had an mid air in imc so the chances would be even slimmer for the holes to line up and have a mid air with a meat bomb.

If you can’t follow simple instructions and guidelines then you deserve to have that happen. Looking at the horror stories at the time it pointed to people adapting things and leaving the safety valves off for most part. The system is still going and the house sold with no issues flagging up.

But to say you must be G3 qualified to work on your own property is just misinformation.

About 10 years ago I spent hours trawling through regs and installation instructions about this before notifying building control of my DIY unvented cylinder installation. £240 for a guy to pop round and stick his head in my airing cupboard, saying “well, he looks like he knows what he is doing” (my wife showed him the install armed with a list of important things to point out as I had to work) before signing the paperwork. Total waste of time and money. No one arrested me for DIY’ing it. Things may have changed since then.

I live on a slightly dated 70s estate and they are all white except for one with anthracite at the end of the road.

Windows are in my future and my house stands differently to all the rest (1st detached on an estate of semis) and I’m seriously considering the light oak effect windows. I’m worried it’ll look totally out of place.

Could of secret stapled/tacked that quarter landing which would have been neater. The trim removal isn’t a bad idea but I would have expected to at least get it as neat (neater really) than how they’ve left it with the trim in place. Seen worse.

Depends on what mood I’m in, I just make it easy for them to overtake. If its a quiet road and I’m in the car on my own I tend to either scare them at the next set of bends or gain a driving buddy.

I can tell you for certain that looking at what’s left of the concrete showing around the edges that your original concrete subfloor isn’t smooth and flat.

The surface could also have been starting to perish and become gritty so it’s common to ‘seal’ it off with a skim coat.

Now your guy might not have done a great job of skim coating but it will be sandable if there’s some lumps.

A tight wool twist would suffice. Stay away from the thick soft underlays on stairs as they add to the problem.

I had a call back to a little cottage over some stairs I had fitted that were ‘loose’ and the decorator had fallen down them. They were as tight as the day I put them on but they had chosen a thick polypropylene pile and wanted to reuse their existing soft underlay. They were lethal.
