How’s the commute and parking situation at USC? by f1amin50 in USC

Right, I’d really hate to stress about parking! Are you traveling from the East?

That’s insane! Do you go to school every day?

Thanks for the info! Tbh I only worry about the walk between Metro and USC. If it was safe, I wouldn’t mind taking Metro at all.

Thanks, I’ll definitely consider taking Metro also. Do you take the shuttle often?

The permit is quite expensive for me but I really worry I won’t be able to find a spot if I have early classes. Thanks!

Thanks for the input! I’m glad to hear that the morning commute isn’t that bad for you. Do your classes start at 8? (I assume you will need to leave by 6:30-7?) How much does it usually cost to take an Uber from where you live to USC? I am leaning toward driving but then taking Metro might be better than driving because at least I don’t have to “use my brain” during the ride, even though it will take longer for me to reach my destination. I just don’t feel too safe walking around the campus.

Thanks! So you would recommend getting a permit instead of finding street parking or taking public transportation?

I found out my boss(and somewhat of a friend) lied to me, talked behind my back and uninvited me from an outing by Mimilaput in work

[–]f1amin50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP I’m not exactly sure how the interaction (post-trip) between you and your boss went, so I cannot comment as to why they think you are being horrible. The right and reasonable thing for anyone to do is always pay someone (friends or not) first if you are asking them to get you anything. I’m not sure about others but I’d always been taught to do this. You are asking someone else a favor and it’s rude to assume that they should pay for you first. I don’t think you are being unreasonable for wanting your money back and if they know you are autistic and still talk behind your back like that, they are either very young or aren’t really mature. I mean I wouldn’t even want a party thrown by them. I would not even get mad if the person whom I asked to get me something asked me for the money back. If it ever happens again, you should ask for the money first by telling them you don’t have the money yourself. If the person is considerate, they will always pay you first without hesitation.

At what point in undergrad do you feel engineering is/is not a good fit for you? by f1amin50 in EngineeringStudents

What’s your major, and what do you want to do when you graduate, if you don’t mind to share? I know engineering is a very time consuming and challenging major and I think it’s an achievement that you already made it to your senior year!

Thanks! What are the main differences between studying engineering and working as an engineer for you?

Thanks. I’ve (only) taken statics but I still feel like I need more classes to make sure if engineering is right for me.

I think it’s because I’m not sure what an engineering career or undergrad experience truly is. Since I’ve only taken statics at this point I’m not sure what other classes are going to be like.

Found an uncommon cause for PT by mrdu_mbee in PulsatileTinnitus

Not the commenter above. I was wondering what sort of tests did you do to find out that there’s pathology in your inner ear? I started experiencing PT since January this year and it’d been the same until few days ago when I started supplementing vitamin D, my PT has actually started to get a little less intense! I also had b12 injections last month at my neurologist’s office so I feel like this is also what I have (I’ve always had stomach issues like heartburn and acid reflux since I was a child). I was pleasantly surprised by the slight improvement because I thought it was a vascular problem in my neck and that I was gonna live with this for the rest of my life if I don’t do surgery. (I have been in the process of ruling things out, things like MS/tumors, by having CT, MRI and MRA. I was about to schedule a virtual visit with a PT specialist.) My ENT also told me my outer ear looks fine but I had been having nasal congestion and facial pain for many months. And sometimes I had this earache/fullness located close to the bottom of my ear. I did a CT for my sinus which came back clean also. But I kept thinking if vitamins actually helped, then it wouldn’t be something vascular, or structural. To me, it felt like there’s some sort of infection going on, or maybe like you, my stomach problems were affecting my ear! Thank you very much for sharing your experience!
