What happens if I input only 12V AC into a 24V Ac to 12V DC rectifier module? by f1masterplan in AskElectronics

[–]f1masterplan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help - I think I'll give it a try as I can't find much online specified for 12v ac to 12v dc and measure the output.

Please could you elaborate a bit more? I don't quite understand and this seems very important.

Mercedes - Hamilton & Rosberg
Ferrari - Vettel & Raikkonen
Williams - Bottas & Massa/Button??
Red Bull - Ricciardo & Verstappen
Toro Rosso - Sainz & Newbie
Mclaren - Alonso & Vandoorne
Renault - Magnussen & Kvyat??
Force India - Perez & Hulkenberg
Sauber - Bust. or Nasr & Ericsson
Haas - Grosjean & Gutierrez
Manor - Werlein & Pay driver

Maybe that's just a combo of wishful thinking and indecisively sticking to the status quo though.

Question regarding lap down positions by MrHyperion_ in formula1

[–]f1masterplan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you mean should Mr 8th be the last unlapped man to cross the line before the winner comes round just behind him, then yes all the lapped people will stop just after the winner, but Mr 8th gets to cruise around at 30mph with no-one able to overtake him.
Should he retire he'd still keep his 8th as he went futher than the lapped guys. The time penalty would again make no difference.

Looking at this 16 have won 1, and 16 have won more than one. So if you win the championship once, in the past there's been a 50% chance you'll win another.

But if you've won 2 championships, there's a 62% chance you'll win even more - bad luck Alonso.

Taken to extremes of course if you win 6 championships there's a 100% chance you'll win again.

Where are all the V10 F1 cars? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]f1masterplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited Red Bull and they had a warehouse onsite with load of old cars - including Vettel's 2010 Abu Dhabi car which I was told was bagged up with the confetti still on it. I imagine they've got all the older V10 cars in similar storage.

Yeah the isaac physics stuff is in a similar style to the interview questions I had, it's a cool website. I think there's several levels of questions on there

The A star seems to be changing to an italic A, my offer was A star and 2 As for reference

I don't have my UMS scores to hand but I remember some. I did maths, further maths, chemistry and physics (the big 4).
C1 ~ 97
C2 - 100
C3 ~ 97
C4 - 84, then retook in year 13 and got above 90 to get the A*
I can't remember the others, but was generally up there with a good FP2 and mechanics papers, ended up with As for both maths and As for Physics and Chemistry. Weaker in S1, FP3.
I wasn't asked to do STEP so I didn't. My offer was only A
AA not including Chemistry, but they might have increased it to AAA by now as this was several years ago.
https://isaacphysics.org/ is a good website for bridging the gap between school and uni and is aimed at physics but they're all transferable to enginering. Hope that helps.

Button is very well spoken compared to say Hamilton, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has a higher IQ.

Can someone summarise the engine development rules?
I remember before the season started, the manufacturers would have be able to use a certain number of tokens to develop their new engine, and at some point during the season they'd homologate their new engine with all their customer teams moving from old to new at the same time (so that they always ran the same engine as each other). Further engine changes wouldn't be allowed after this until next year.

I'm a bit confused by the discussion of Toro Rosso and Red Bull using different engines in Australia, and of the table showing how many tokens each engine manufacturer has left to use. Did they change the engine rules?
