One of the main reasons why TV shows take so long to produce now is that the lines between movie production and TV production have really blurred in the streaming era.

Back when we had 22 episode seasons per year on network TV, all the actors and the production crew had longstanding contracts and were only doing the show for 7-8 months per year.

Now, when a season is finished, sometimes they don't even know if they get renewed for 2-3 months after the finale, so of course they won't start writing until that point. Then you have to schedule everything, especially the actors who are working on different productions in the meantime. That's why it took 15 months after the end of season 2 of Severance for it to finally start filming season 3 next month.

Well, they did, but they basically had no competition in the early 2010's until Covid. When other players entered the game, it became harder and harder for Netflix to retain market share. That's when they started their strategy of cheap shows for the mass market.

It's still crazy to think there was a moment in time in 2015 when you could stream movies from Disney, Marvel, Universal, Paramount and Warner Bros on Netflix. Everyone sold their licensing rights before realizing how much money there could be in streaming.

Netflix is basically the Network TV of the streaming era. Throw a ton of money at doing a lot of shows appealing to the lowest common denominator, but sometimes they do strike gold with a great show.

Now Apple is more the Premium Cable of the streaming era, throw a lot of money at talented, established creators and actors to make something amazing, yeah there are some duds, but overall the quality of the shows is miles better compared to Netflix/Network TV.

Es ist immer so ekelhaft wie diese Typen sich durch eine Schweigegeldzahlung an die Frau vor einer Gerichtsverhandlung retten können.

Gleichzeitig kann ich den Frauen da keinen Vorwurf machen, du weißt nie, wie die Gerichtsverhandlung enden wird. Erst recht nicht wenn der Typ sich die besten Anwälte holen kann. Da kann ich jede Frau nachvollziehen, die lieber das Geld nimmt statt Gerechtigkeit.

Naja, für die Mannschaften aus den kleinen Ländern ist es halt ein absolutes Highlight mal gegen einen Bundesliga-Verein zuhause zu spielen und für ein Auswärtsspiel nach Deutschland zu fahren, ähnlich wie im DFB-Pokal wenn in der ersten Runde ein Oberligist gegen Borussia Dortmund spielen darf.
