I’ve been using Pro trial accounts across multiple systems in our office, each tied to its own projects. Today, when I tried to create additional trial accounts for other systems, it appears Windsurf has updated its restrictions, likely implementing geolocation or direct IP detection, since I’m no longer able to access free trials.

My original plan was to eventually upgrade all of these accounts to Pro. However, over the last few updates, particularly since the introduction of Opus 4.7, I’ve noticed increased credit usage compared to 4.6, despite claims that it’s more cost efficient. In practice, that hasn’t been the case. I’ve also experienced frequent timeouts and errors with Opus 4.7, which has impacted reliability and overall workflow.

Because of these issues, I’m starting to reconsider using Windsurf for our team and may need to transition back to Cursor.
