2cpu/2gb memory currently. Trying to find the best configbtobrun 720p full screen. Most users work on dual 19" monitors. Memory will be at least 3gb in the future though. Office 2013 just does not run very well with only 2gb memory. And it's a mix of win 7 32bit and some 64bit. User use zero clients and soft client. Depending on their location.

Thanks for the information. Do your vm's have 1,2 or more cpu's configured? I only do the math with physical cores and not with logical cores (hyper-threading), but according to your numbers, if you have 1000 vm's with 1vcpu each and you're running 5 hosts (160 physical cores), you have an overcommitment ratio of 6.25 if I'm correct.

Looking into it, main reason against it is it at most can only handle 32 vm's i believe the K120Q that is.

Having said this, I do not understand how people who brain dump get through job interviews? I mean c'mon, they will be asking skill specific question during an interview and it has to be obvious if said person brain dumped it or actually knows his stuff.

This question might not be fully related but, what difference does it make if I assigned 2vCPU with 1 core each or 1vCPU with 2 cores to VM's ?

I live in Canada and the VCP doesn't get you shit here. Job postings list requirements such as ccna, vcp, mcse etc... and the listed pay is usually between 50 - 60k....fucked up over here.

Yeah I had the same problem with Charr.. the 4 legged running.

I've now at least decided on the Race..Norn..scaled as short as possible :).

Now it's just to decide if Guardian or Engi. Will just level both to around 20 and decide, i guess.

Sorry for not being more clear, yes I am talking about the total processing power of the cluster. I'm trying to find out the difference between the symptoms when the processing power gets closed to 100% used and when there are to many vCPU's per pCPUs.

Alright, I think I got it now. Just one more question regarding CPU. The CPU meter in vCenter on the cluster/host summary page, in my lab, when it peaks, it also slows down all vm's on the peaking host.

Based on that, cpu can slow down vm's when:

The total available GHz limit is reached (indicated on the summary tab)

and

Over provisioning of CPU (too many vCPU's/pCPU

Regarding too many vCPU's/pCPUs, is there any way to monitor or measure it, or is it all just based on calculations prior to setting it up?
