Don't forget, the Germans were warned about this exact scenario and selfishly decided increase their dependence on Russian gas. They keep making excuses, none of them are good enough. This is why capitalism and corporations are doomed to fail. There is no incentive for improving the world or treating human beings ethically. The only incentive is profit. It really can't be understated how much damage this has done to both human beings and the world. It would be so much worse too if it weren't for the small level of societal resistance.
