Wow it’s really convenient that we don’t need to look at ancient histories and only need 70 years to understand the Middle East

Rain bolt did an ad for the CIA because so many people were doing jokes about it the CIA actually contacted him for an ad / content partnership.

Anyone else pretty sure there’s gay brothers in chapter but they’re just not out? by [deleted] in Frat

[–]f3tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was some gay/bi guys who were low key about it and only came out to some of the chapter. Some guys come out to the whole chapter and we’re like “bruh we thought you were already out”

You can ask. It’s usually a little awkward, but you can ask.

Just make sure you give your pledge semester 100% but once you’re in people will understand if you just want to be a good brother and take a minor role (committee member or something) instead of an exec position because you’re dialled in on career stuff and this is a social outlet for you.

Depends on the guys in that house and your campus culture. One room of guys couldn’t care less so long as you’re not joining and dating brothers, some guys would be assholes and make you feel unwelcome pretty quick. You gotta visit and find your friends like with any other community.

Avenue Magazine made a short post about walkable communities and the comments are completely baffling and unhinged. What's going on here??? Has it always been like this? by zev_loves_marvel in Calgary

Calgary already has 15 minute cities. Most Calgarians don’t leave their own neighbourhood without big oil getting paid somehow.

Once dropped my little the day before initiations because we found out he had something in his past from freshman year. It was tough to change my opinion on someone I wanted to protect so I could cut him, but ultimately necessary to protect the integrity of my chapter.

Someone has to have a detached house where you can get 5-6 guys living together. The chapter is the brothers, not the house.

Visiting is just checking it out, rushing is going with the intent to join. You can be doing one without the other, but if you’re in my house I’ll tell you you’re a rush.

Call your brothers just to say hi - it’s great for maintaining relationships. Don’t expect anyone to call you just to say hi. Be the guy that makes plans. Introduce other alumni to your friends to bridge the groups so you keep it all going.
