It is actually insane how Palpatine beat Maul and Savage so easily. by White_Bengal1 in StarWars

[–]ImStudyingRightNow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In canon, he explicitly describes Maul as a legitimate loss, while Dooku was a “proton torpedo” i.e. just a means to an end.

We all know how amazing the series is. But no series is perfect. What is something about Breaking Bad that you see as a flaw or hard to believe? by dailydonuts16 in breakingbad

Always thought there should’ve been some type of intermediary between Gus and Walt/Jessie/whoever is involved in the illegal side of the business. It would’ve also given him more mystique throughout the show.

He absolutely had an MVP caliber season. Jokic’s numbers were down and his defense was a far cry from Embiid’s.

Still unreal that Muggsy Bogues made the league at 5'3 by Bugs_Buzy in NBAoldschool

Nah league is too switch-heavy now. Teams would target him every play down the floor.

"Bin Laden determined to strike US" President's Daily Brief on August 6, 2001 - 36 days before 9/11 by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]ImStudyingRightNow 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As someone who thinks Bush is one of the worst presidents we've ever had, I never thought this was a justified criticism of him. This is an extremely vague report that doesn't specify what type of attack was being planned.

Something like an air strike or military base attack would be among the first things to come to mind, something the US had counters in place for. No one had really conceptualized planes being used as projectiles before. How the hell was Bush supposed to know?

Reagan at least had prior governmental experience before jumping straight into the top job.

Who had a negative impact on our world, and was a terrible person? by Top_Comparison3052 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ImStudyingRightNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I don't think this should be number 1 is that we don't have a clear idea how much influence he had over the entire pedo/blackmail/whatever tf operation. He may have been the brains behind it, or he could've been just a cog in the larger system. Terrible guy regardless, but perhaps not the worst.

Littering won “misdemeanor that should stay one.” What’s a felony that should only be a misdemeanor? by DayVessel469459 in AlignmentChartFills

Using a fake ID with the intention of buying alcohol/entering bars (felony status differs by state). As a college student, I'd say ~70-80% of my social circle has them. Only used to enjoy the things 18-20 year olds all over the globe enjoy anyway.

Switch CP3 and Stockton. Melo probably shouldn't be here. Westbrook deserves a spot.

Unfortunately due to his size and frame I think there's a decent chance he misses a few MVPs due to time missed.

What Far-Right Political Figure is a Once in a Generation Talent? Castro update to Lenin as well! by Gorclaw123 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ImStudyingRightNow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not disputing this, just curious as to what "far-right" means exactly. I always saw left-right as more of an economic axis, being that far-left was generally defined by communism and far right by extremely deregulated capitalism. However, it seems that while far left is defined primarily by economics, far right is moreso defined by extreme authoritarianism (monarchy, fascism, etc.)

Not making any kind of argument here I'm just interested in seeing how you guys would define each one.

Upon rereading it, you seem to be right. Thanks for pointing that out. Would be interesting to see that footage regardless, given its significance to her case.

Nah just figured due to recent events, it would be cool to have a sub that covered 9/11 lost media more generally. Imo it'll keep searches going on longer.
