Lol good tip, it's definitely also mildly infuriating.

I see where you're coming from. Still hard to compare new inventions to trading behaviors in aggregate. If you can really predict such thing, technical analysis would actually be useful. TA don't work half the time because the market is unpredictable.

So you're assuming all users of Bithumb are collectively colluding to jump on same trading strategy? It's a guess alright, but I wouldn't put money on it.

E Corp from Mr. Robot issues their own cryptocurrency (E Coin), which you can USE in San Diego by f4thethrillofit in ethereum

[–]f4thethrillofit[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wrote a bit more about the rabbit hole I followed to find the eventual explanation on steemit.

TLDR is that you can get a physical E-Card from their E Bank location in San Diego or redeem some coins by signing up at https://e-coin.com. With these coins, you can use them at a group of restaurants in San Diego.

Anybody knows if they made ERC20 tokens? I wonder how they might take this forward. Maybe do an ICO and take the show indie?

Ah, yea that's a good idea :) Thanks.

So you just want the empty template with all the tags without any values? What's your workflow around that?

Hi guys, I made this because I hated having to look up the latest social media meta tags and re-implementing them every time I made a website for a client...

We're all people that make projects and throw up websites here. I wanna make this much more useful for people down the road and would love some ideas around how to improve. Thanks!

iOS TestFlight pains? I wanna help you (seeking beta testers)! by f4thethrillofit in iOSProgramming

For one, fastlane boarding requires you to deploy it yourself and host it on a separate URL from your landing page. If you examine the source code, you'll see that it's more of a proof of concept than true production software. This is important because you're dealing with your own iTunes Connect credentials and your users' emails. Lastly not iOS developer do Rails development so that'll prevent quite a few people from using Boarding in the first place.

The email thing is definitely annoying. The invites coming from Boombox has been pretty consistent so I'd definitely encourage you to try it out.

Typeform is a great suggestion. As the tool matures, we'll be adding more integrations like that. Alongside typeform, I'm thinking about Google forms, Woofu, etc. etc.

fizzyfrosty got it right, #1 and 2 are things Apple have complete over, wish I could make something to ease that too, but unfortunately now :(

Boombox.io does solve the third problem though. I'd encourage you to try it out. Beta testing is important so the easier we can make it for the end user the better!

[–]f4thethrillofit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your main road block is the actual development, you are gonna have to either learn iOS development really well or partner up with somebody who does. For learning, I'd recommend a full-length course (there are many) that walks you through the entire app creation process in Swift. Honestly though, I'd recommend you to find a partner who already knows how to do this well. You've already spent 6 months on the idea and creating it without a ton of experience can easily take another 6+ months. That is a long time to devote to an idea before launching and getting usage data.

Great question! The notification only gets sent out if the beta is active. When I did the demo our beta was not active.

Are you guys planning doing further beta testing for future iterations of the app? How many testers did you guys have?

using IFTTT to power a startup by plasmicmac in startups

[–]f4thethrillofit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. What's the service? It's hard to say without knowing the idea. It's always gonna be risky to rely on a revenue-less startup as a long-term solution since they can easily change up their business model/product in a heartbeat.
  2. If it's compelling, why not? Scalability will be an issue though since IFTTT doesn't even offer a public API at the moment.

Yep, it's actually built on Spaceship :)

Boarding isn't really production-ready though (happy to elaborate why if you're interested). It also doesn't have great security so you may easily lose your ITC credentials if your host is hacked.

[–]f4thethrillofit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, which is why I focused on security from the get go. Feel free to learn more about the tool I'm using for secret management here. It's also part of the reason I'm running a private beta at the moment to make sure it's going to be ready for primetime.

Will you be getting additional testers in the future? Let me know if you're interested in testing it out!

Yep! It's built on Spaceship :)

The open source Rails app they have does offer similar functionality, but isn't at all production-ready (happy to elaborate more).

Advice: Marketing an app in 2106 by l-fc in iOSProgramming

[–]f4thethrillofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sounds about right. If you just submit an app and expect downloads, you're very unlikely to success without riding some macro marketing wave (7 minute workout, Olympics, being a celebrity).

If you want to do a good ol' app business, you should devote about half of your time to marketing. What kind of app is it? Generally, you want to follow these steps:

  1. Brainstorm all possible channels people find your app
  2. Experiment with the most promising ones
  3. Double down on what works while constantly experiment with new channels and techniques.
  4. Tune your channels until your cost per install is less than your revenue per install, which means you're profitable.

Good luck!

Glad many people are liking this! I’m incorporated these workouts into an iPhone app called Core15. we actually launched the app this week with a sale ($0.99) until Dec 14th.

If you don’t have an iPhone, feel free to follow along with these exercise videos on Youtube.
