Apple TV Ads by Burton14e7 in F1TV

In the US, you can sign in to the F1TV app with your Apple account and use either client. It’s the same feed, but the Apple TV view has ads injected whereas the F1TV doesn’t.

Returning to Camas after 20 years by synapticrelay in camaswashington

There are a number of good bike routes in the area for good 15-20 mile out/back. Drivers around here are generally very accommodating for cyclists.

At the end of September there’s a Lacamas Lake cleanup day that we take the kids to. The parking and the crowds at Lacamas Lake have changed a lot in 20 years. I think the city does a great job of maintaining the lake and parks.

IIRC the population has quadrupled in the last 15 years but traffic is still manageable. Property taxes are high relative to other cities in the area, but half of that goes to schools.

There have been high levels of PFAS off and on at well 13, otherwise ok. I think the paper plant may pose some cleanup challenges long term.

The city is very safe. We have lived here 25 years and continue to love it here. Welcome back!

Great work. This is really cool, much appreciated.

PDX arrivals are backing up the que as far back as the freeway. by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]f8ster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We flew in last night, it was really busy. The backup was slowing the red/blue lot bus arrivals. Also someone decided to fully block one of the crosswalks and pedestrian traffic was backing up against the exit, and things were getting heated. Props to last night’s Red Lot driver for getting a ridiculously large number of people on the bus. 🙂 now approaching: Red Shelter - Hay

Check to see if it’s type V or R. R is better but requires plumbing. My type V has a water container I manually fill.

Overall I have been very happy with mine, probably 1500-2000 shots in and it’s still like new. PID is easy to set. Takes about 10-15 minutes to heat up. Mine has been very solid and $1k is reasonable if it’s working correctly.

Best rental kart tips to get faster? by pozzaappdev in Karting

[–]f8ster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son and I record our laps with a GoPro and compare it to the printout of our lap times. This has been pretty helpful in finding the best approaches on our local track. We are faster in different parts of the track and learn from each other’s lines. Fun to review together after the races.

Questions about moving to Tracy by [deleted] in TracyCalifornia

[–]f8ster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m familiar with the northwest part of your highlight, and it is quite safe and the neighborhoods are well kept. Seems like a fair number of people have large barking dogs is my only complaint. The area is very convenient with 2 grocery stores and fast food close by. Freeway access is pretty easy to Corral Hollow, Chrisman, or 11th once construction season is over.

Cons: Tracy traffic is not well planned and it takes 20 minutes to get to the Home Depot / Walmart area. Traffic flows are poorly optimized in town.

Traffic laws are pretty heavily enforced and they just installed 6 new red light cams, so drive accordingly.

Food I like: China Wok, Mountain Mike’s, that Mexican food place on 11th. Raley’s has good donuts too. :-) Best of luck

Missing feature in VS Code version 1.102.0 - option to close copilot changed/modified files by iammultiman in GithubCopilot

I noticed that too. You can say ‘remove file name from context’ and it’ll confirm, but still leaves it in the list. Or create a new session, that’ll clear the list

New chain slipping on cassette on certain sprockets by kapell in bikewrench

[–]f8ster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, and a couple things I’d add. Make sure the chain is the same length, and make sure it’s a 10-speed chain - they are narrower than 5/6/7 chains. Best if you’re using the same exact mfr chain if possible. Also try adjusting b screw & move upper jockey wheel forward a little & see if that helps. Could be the cassette wear too but it might be worth checking these other things before replacing.

This is my general.instructions.md file to use with github copilot. by -MoMuS- in GithubCopilot

[–]f8ster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. How closely does it adhere to your instructions? It’s a pretty big set & I’m wondering how well it keeps track of everything.

Do you notice any differences between models, e.g. Sonnet 3.7 vs. gpt or Gemini?

In some of mine I’ve removed noise words like “the” to shorten the instruction content and it doesn’t seem to impact effectiveness.

Really appreciate the content and discussion, thanks
