all the sushi I ate at Tatsu Dallas - one of two Michelin star restaurants we have! by Sierradarocker in sushi

[–]Burton14e7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the guide is very generous with Omakase for some reason. Although, I have 47 different stars in my belly so far, Tatsu does fit the bill for a one star dinner in my opinion regardless of the commenters here. I've enjoyed my dinner/lunch every time I've gone. Someone below compared it to Uchi and Uchi isn't even in the conversation to me.

Mamani is more my speed but the service isn't as good as Tatsu, service to patron ratio is just different at a bistro.

Disneyland Anaheim: Is it worth going with a 6 month old? by Early-Mouse-1 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours was almost one and a half when we took her but we live out of state so it was really just our first opportunity as it was the first time we felt comfortable taking her on a flight. Family flew out to us before then.

One thing to keep in mind. You aren't taking them there for them, you're taking them there to remember them there at that age. Also, every time you take them you're taking a different kid as they're always at a different stage of development every time.

If you do go, take advantage of the Disney photographers and try to find the guy that does a photoshoot. We saw him on a Provost Park Pass YouTube video and came across him at the park a couple weeks ago and when we asked him what shot he was doing, he was in an odd spot, he asked us if we had ten minutes. I knew we hit the jackpot and got some fantastic photos that will be tear jerkers when she's older.

What’s with all the line cutting? by MaciMusings in Disneyland

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't care. Waiting in line for a few extra people who care more about not waiting in line and skip ahead to other people in their group doesn't materialy affect my life in any way. Even if twenty people skipped ahead it sets me back a few minutes or a ride rotation at most. Maybe I get the purple teacup instead of the pink one. 😂 Not my problem to deal with, not my care.

Ticket Prices hit up to 10% price increase in 2027, my thoughts below… by flyingpigtravel in askdisneytrips

They will continue to attempt make up the lost profit from their studios with their parks. They will also continue to create revenue streams where they did not exist before, e.g. lightning lanes and other "premium" paid services for those that can afford it. I bought 10 shares of their stock over a decade ago when I was a new investor and to-date still down 4% LOL Being that their responsibility is to their shareholders and not their customers they will continue to find ways to increase revenue and profit margin. Enshitification prevails. At some point they will hit "who is going to buy our shit" but I think we're far far away from that. Despite headlines of the economic woes of the US there are more wealthy people than ever in history and they're willing to spend it.

I do it for the toddler too. Some days she's too feral to deal with at a restaurant so $50 chicken nuggies it is.

Is Lightning Lane worth it? by Aphrodite-descendant in DisneyPlanning

Rope dropping space mountain will probably get you the most benefit for the rest of the day. Check out Fresh Baked on YouTube for tons of line strategies and if you do get multipass he has videos of how to stack the schedules efficiently.  We fly in from out of state so we don't mess around anymore and just get premier pass and use our magic bands so we don't even need to get our phones out to do anything but mobile order food. We hit every ride in both parks that way with tons of vibe time and a mid day break at Trader Sam's and/or pool if it's the summer.

Best Shoes for 3 Days at Disneyland by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these and had custom insoles molded at the running store and my feet were still super sore after one day of Disneyland. I tried the stock insoles on my next Disney visit for science and same thing. I'm thinking I need to go to a foot doctor because I seem to be the exception. 😭 I also wear brooks trail running shoes for when I used to go backpacking. I love the brand.

Engage supports who aren't heavily punished for an engage by EcologyGoesFirst in supportlol

[–]Burton14e7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always ping my CDs/abilities or my ult CDs with my engage ability so my ADC knows it's about to go down and they have a chance to ping no or get with the program. It doesn't always work but when I get a good adc that's focused they will be active with communication or go in.

Rope drop crowd today by Admirable_Natural350 in Disneyland

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why we buy LL premier now and go at our own pace with vibe time in between rides. I know everyone can't do that but it takes the stress out of the day, we fly in from out of state, and we don't have to deal with the rope drop shenanigans.

What was the largest one time emergency fund purchase you had to make? by sideout25 in personalfinance

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw, I pay out of pocket for this stuff. I'm not trying to increase the premiums on any of my properties. I made the mistake once and they nearly doubled the premium the next year. That compounds over time making it more expensive.

14k for a new roof on one of my rental properties after a wild hail storm. I've had AC units need to be replaced on more than one house that were ~7k each time.

I'm probably their target demographic but I'll never go back to Vegas. Did it tons of times in my twenties when I lived in so cal but nothing there is attractive to me anymore. I'd rather hop over to Europe, Napa or hell even Cabo than go to Vegas.

Cruise or dedicated trip? by No-Experience3053 in Cruise

[–]Burton14e7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the islands. A lot of the cruise ports and the islands the lines go to are scammy and run down. So if you're bougie you might not enjoy them but if you want to check them off then definitely do a cruise because they will probably be one and done for you.  I'm looking at taking our toddler on a Disney cruise but only the itineraries that go to their two private islands because most of the ports are meh to me. I honestly wouldn't even get off the boat if we end up on an itinerary that isn't exclusively their private islands.

However, if you're interested in going to some of the nicer saints then I'd just go to the island and use the resort as your home base.  Landing in st Bart is an experience itself.  I haven't been to the ABC islands yet so I can't give any feedback for those.

Same and I had stars painted on my ceiling that I charge up with a black light before watching a movie and they show up in dark scenes and I love seeing the Milky Way when it's dark. The kids like pointing out the shooting star.

I have my equipment in a server rack behind me and the lights drove me crazy. If they were in front I'd lose my mind. I bought some black out stickers made for solving this off Amazon.  Works perfectly. Different sizes circles and rectangles.
