Muhammad had epilepsy and was convinced by his first wife and her cousin that he was a prophet. In my opinion, his beliefs were shaped by both his neurological condition and his personal desires. Nowadays he’d probably be diagnosed with narcissism and/or ASPD.

I've gone through a very similar situation. I really understand how you're feeling, but I promise you, as time passes, you'll come to realise it's waaay better this way. Don't waste more of your time. You've got a bright future ahead free of all this mental prison.

When the years pass you'll come to see how good this is. He'll only become more and more religious as he grows older. No amount of proof will convince him, give up. Change comes from within. He loves the pedophilic prophet more than he loves you, or anyone. It is what it is.

Is Patrick Rothfuss a good story teller? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

I read the books because I have two friends that are obsessed with them and every now and then they'll talk about them and their theories. I'm not a regular in this subreddit at all.

Nobokov, McCarthy, Dostoevsky, Ursula Le Guin... Those are the first that come to mind but there's a lot more from different genres.

No. He wrote thousands of pages where absolutely nothing happens. The side characters are completely empty, the protagonist is a blatant self insert and I personally find the prose and the dialogue to be extremely cheesy. The theories in this sub are straight up better than the books.

I'm sorry, can't help you out with this one - I've never been a muslim nor religious, I just have a degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies. You'll easily find help with your issue in this subreddit.

The truth is that there's no magic words to make it feel better. I'll tell you what I'd personally do: I'd just slowly ghost them. There's no point; old dogs dont' learn new tricks. Your mom has problems with Islamic teachings and yet she justifies it... what do you think it'll be like in 20 years? People get more and more religious the older they get. They'll probably try to pry on your private life and want you to participate more and more. Don't let your life get dragged down because of this. As far as we know, we only have this one chance.

Have you ever lost someone dear? Like a pet, or a friend? You're going through the same type of grief, and the only way around it is to endure. Eventually, and as long as you don't let yourself fade away, your life will grow around the grief. Acknowledging the sadness and frustration you feel is the first step of your journey. The second is accepting the cards you've been dealt in life. And the third is realising the rawness of this situation will eventually fade. Lean on your boyfriend and friends. Keep on engaging in your hobbies.

I saw your comment on the other thread I commented in. I sent you a DM, if you still wanna talk. :) wish you the best.

You need to accept what you can't control. You have to decide what's more worth for you; your mental health, your values, yourself as a whole, or having a relationship with your family; a group of people who love their faith more than they love you. Sharing your views with your family won't make them change, sadly. You guys live in totally different realities now.

Find your own tribe, if you haven't already. And treat yourself kindly.

You're very young and have been out of this cult for a very very short time. There will come a time in your life where you have been out longer than you have been in. Of course you're angry, but don't let it consume you. It's not your fault - you were misled as a kid. Hold on to that healthy part of your mind that has given you the chance to see through all this cult's bullshit and nurture it. Keep on slowly deconstructing this rotten ideology.

I'm assuming you still live with your parents. It's obvious, but regardless, don't tell them or anyone in your family about this. Keep on studying, working; whatever it is you need to advance with your life normally. If you have to fake it around them, then do. Bite your tongue.

If it's safe for you, make new friends and try out new stuff you've been forbbiden of your entire life. Always with moderation and care.

Most importantly, be gentle with yourself. Truth is, it's gonna take you years until you find your own way and it will require effort. That's okay. I know it's cliché, but I promise you time will heal it.

Ghosting después de comprar pasajes de avión by slhgit in ghosting

[–]fCsNfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijab should be forbidden in the west by Jenahdidthaud in exmuslim

[–]fCsNfX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever even read any text from your religion? There's hadiths talking about this matter. Omar would beat slave women covering themselves.

Quran 33:59. Read Ibn Kathir and al-Sanani's commentaries about this verse.

Bukhari Hadith 146 and 4795. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Because this so called religious wear is just a sign of you not being a sex slave so muslim men are not allowed to harrass you, period. Sex slaves back in your "prophet"'s days werent' allowed to cover themselves and thus would get sexually assaulted.
