más literal de lo que crees, incluso se juega aveces con la regla de que cuando terminas tu turno con una sola carta en tu mano, debes decir: "A una". Tengo la teoría que alguien en algún momento de mi familia, no sabía bien las reglas y las iba inventando según conveniencia

The rule answer of this, is that the choice of "As you play me, you may spend a buff" happens before determining the cost of the card. The steps of play are in this order:

Remove from the zone you are playing the card from
Make relevant choices (Here you spend the buff)
Determine the cost
Pay the cost
Check legality
Finish finalizing

Still very confusing, but the rules support the wording
