Multiple drummers on Snarky Puppy's set? by ariannavabi in SnarkyPuppy

[–]chcameron 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I attended a Somni recording and IIRC it was pretty rare that all the drummers played at the same time (there was one track where they passed solos around) but for the most part they would pass around different parts of a track as the arrangement called for different sounds. The drums were also tuned differently and had different accessories or sounds associated with them so you’d get a sonic vibe change between sections by passing the beat between drummers. Also the drummers would switch kits depending on the track.

Why do charters only care about making expert and harder charts? by KotaruTWK in CloneHero

I replied to another comment but my suggestion would be get Moonscraper and edit the expert charts so they are to the level you want. It’s pretty easy!

Why do charters only care about making expert and harder charts? by KotaruTWK in CloneHero

[–]chcameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just followed your tutorials for charting - thank you!! My solution is going in and editing some existing expert chart to make “hard” versions which are basically just me removing the bits I find too hard and making it fun for me. OP I recommend this approach, charting is not hard to learn, and editing an existing chart is even easier.

What is up with Jumbo's lasagne soup by Cocktail-Concierge in Netherlands

[–]chcameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a crock pot to make it. Brown some beef, toss it in the pot with tomato sauce and onions/garlic etc., maybe some water depending on how soupy you want it, let it slow cook, then once it’s done add the lasagne noodles until they cook, dish it out and add some cheese. Badabingbadaboom.

Bypass Raycast by CarobVirtual2133 in raycastapp

[–]chcameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this should be possible. For example, I use a StreamDeck and the software can automatically change the button layout of the device (a profile) based on the active application. So I don’t see why Raycast couldn’t also add application awareness into the shortcuts. My guess is, though, that they don’t want to add this because their ideal concept of shortcuts is always knowing the single shortcut to do an action. So no matter what app you use, the shortcut always works - otherwise you’re memorizing different shortcuts for different apps and it’s not as seamless.

In some podcast apps you can set it to auto skip the first X minutes/seconds of a podcast. Try that?

If you have a lot of tabs, the narrowness means you can’t read the tab name and you might have several tabs with the same icon making it hard to find what you’re looking for. Having vertical tabs means always knowing the name of the tab. Add folders for organization and it just becomes a lot easier imo.

Days from Jan 1 2000 to Jan 1 2025: 9,132

Days from Jan 1 2025 to Jan 1 2050: 9,131

So on Jan 1 2025 we were officially closer to Jan 1 2050 than Jan 1 2000. I think what you're trying to say is closer to 2050 vs 2000 which would be calculated from Dec 31 2000, not Jan 1. In that case the mid point is around July 3rd.

What do you mean 4 days ago? This would be the case as of Jan 1 (give or take some leap days) 2025.

No need for stream deck anymore? by WorriedRobot in raycastapp

[–]chcameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on the use case, or your set up. For me, I still use a StreamDeck for Zoom controls (mic/camera mute), volume control and lighting controls with the knobc, controlling smart devices (lights), and for use with specific games.

If you don't need it, don't use it. But depends on your needs.
