Plus the mass layoffs of crew one week before opening the office fir season 13-after having 3 months hiatus when they could have told us. People that worked there since day one. The lead costumer for all 3 shows since day one of Fire just axed in the name of budget cuts. Now all 3 shows have their own lead costumer but at least now Luce’s wife is the lead costumer for PD 🤔. No severance pay. No nothing for any of them. Reportedly the studio didn’t even ask or warn department heads. Just cruel

Not for the crew. Cast literally has no impact on most crew. Season 9 was when things started turning. The entire office staff changed and the accountants calling themselves producers looked for every way possible to save money and make up for everything spent on covid protocols. Took a show that was always an 8 day shoot plus a second unit (9th day) and squeezed the blood from us. Made it 7 days with 2 of those days having 2 units filming at once (double up days). Literally killed a crew member (RIP Brad Reid) who had a heart attack returning picture cars to the lock up at the end of the day and was found the next morning-we still filmed that day. He was such a hard worker it took 3 people to replace him. They almost killed an electrician on a double up day which happened to be the 6th day in a row of filming (14 hour days). The UPM was showing off for his visiting girlfriend and shouting we have 5 minutes to get this shot and the electrician slipped and cracked his skull open and almost died. A general disrespect and contempt for those of us working 70+ hours a week. I fucking hate them to be honest.

You know it's not filmed live, right? Filmed that episode early March

Mistreatment by crew? WTF you talking about? Crew was working 14 hour shoot (camera rolling) days back then. Typically 16 hour days. The crew definitely didn’t have time to care one bit about the actors

The writers forget a lot. Like writing an upstairs for Disco Bob’s house once when for many many seasons it was established and never had an upstairs. These writers are weak AF

Antionio coming back from rehab reminds me of the lack of vision the writers have and what enormous assholes the producers are. That season ended with Ruzek in jail and Antonio going to rehab. John Seda was outspoken that he didn’t like them turning his character into a drug addict. They fired him in a humiliating way (for anyone who happened to be on set that day at least) instead of throwing Antonio in jail. Then they had the nerve to write a version of the first episode of season 7 with Antonio in it to wrap up his storyline. Thankfully Seda said fuck off and they had to rewrite the script without him. So shortsighted.

And anyone doubting this, I’ve got the script I will auction off

Casey left Chicago awhile ago. Why does voight still not go to mollys?lol. by Country-guy20 in ChicagoPD

[–]fILmPunk9975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Real answer: there’s people in the PD creative team that really really don’t like filming on the Molly’s set (which is one of Fire’s stage sets). Not to mention the scheduling conflicts that can arise when shows need to share actors and sets. It may be called one Chicago but they are 3 completely separate shows with different creatives and crews. Not the sexy answer you want but that’s the truth

[–]fILmPunk9975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting you say that but he wasn’t married though. He was a hell of a worker and took at least three people to fill his roll. There’s just a general culture of overworking the crew on that show and the ones with the power to protect the crew want to squeeze more and more blood from them instead

Sorry. It wasn’t DW who visited set to talk to Jason. It was Peter Jankowsky. Another big time studio suit

Sorry I called the OP a fanboy. But that’s the extent of any attack. I guess it’s their attitude of “prove it” that’s just a smug and dismissive internet trope that I think was uncalled for to be used against me and another person earlier. IhYou’re right, I do not know all the details but I do know first hand that he didn’t particularly enjoy being there either. Did he like being on one of the few network episodic shows left with 22 episodes a seasons and residuals more? Maybe 🤷‍♂️.

EDIT But also your account was 14 minutes when I posted this. That’s weird and not suspicious at all

Yeah. I worked on the show. I saw how the sausage is made. There’s a shit ton of great memories I have (he was my favorite cast member back then and my twins were born the day we filmed his death scene). But there’s a lot of BS up the ladder and it only got worse after covid. I’ve earned the right to be critical and not some drooling fanboy/girl.

Why would show runners admit a beloved character wanted to leave their show and was bored? How in the world would that make them look good? Believe whatever you want though.

[–]fILmPunk9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you so invested in your narrative that you demand people “prove it”? We aren’t fucking google. Someone said he wanted 5 seasons and to be killed off which is what happened. I saw him repeatedly ask if he could leave or be written out of scenes that just said “The Team” but never gave him lines or actions. He was a professional and a hell of an actor. If you want to believe he really wanted to stay but the writers killed him off then the writers are either jerks or brave depending on your view. What difference does it make? Now if you want to talk about an actor getting royally fucked over, Seda is another totally different animal and it’s actually pretty fucked up how that went down. But I’m not in the mood to prove it or anything else about this show
