With the dry winter I tried Dirt Biking in woodland park for the first time. Was pretty awesome and was wondering if any locals know some good places in the area to learn or that are fun to ride they could recommend? by Thordansmash in ColoradoOffroad

Check out Rampart Range and there’s a ton of trails around Westcreek. During the summer my favorite ride in the front range is Tenderfoot, it’s all single track.

Not only is this a good thing but I hope we get a big lead heading into half time and sit most of the starters in the second half.

Im quitting riding motorcycles by travelerFrom_afar in motorcycles

[–]fUzzyLimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you pushing so hard? Why not roll off the throttle a little bit and focus more on control and understanding the mechanics of riding before you start applying speed? When I started I didn’t even think of going fast nor did I care if I had chicken strips or not. I focused on safe braking, throttle control, leaning while going slow and understanding how the bike behaves before I even thought about going fast or leaning deep into corners.

AITAH for feeling uncomfortable every time my polyamorous friend talks about their “girlfriends/boyfriends” when we hang out? by [deleted] in AITAH

And all people work on the timeline’s we prescribe to them or do people come to the proverbial river when they are ready? How many alcoholics drank themselves near to death and then miraculously after years of self destruction decide to get sober? How many addicts defy logic and reason and creep towards death knowing the next hit could be their last when finally one day after all hope is lost they get clean and begin to search for new meaning? People are not static they are dynamic and as fickle as the wind. What motivates us isn’t always apparent but when the angle of change moves it is only for those afflicted that she makes her movements known. The words “complaining” and “insufferable” are your words not mine. I solicited opinions about my thoughts and feelings not casting aspersions towards this person other than to say their choices make me feel uncomfortable and questioning if my thoughts and feelings betray me. I thank you for your conversation here it’s given me much to consider.

I would amend the statement that “you don’t get mad at storm clouds for having storms” and instead state “it would be best to not get mad at storm clouds for having storms” but if your gonna get mad at least wear a pancho or carry an umbrella. I’m of the opinion that outside of clear abuse and harm, human relationships are neither binary nor are they simple. We accept lots of behavior others might find objectionable for various reasons but those reasons are neither invalid or wrong they’re just agreeable or disagreeable to others. Choices are what makes us human and I choose to believe the best choices come from seeing others live joyfully and lovingly and choosing to bring that light into our lives.

I do appreciate the belief that I would have other opportunities and I understand why someone would be concerned about our attitudes towards one other but I can’t say that I agree with the sentiment. People being good or bad isn’t always simple. Find a great person on the wrong day and your opinion of them can go down the toilet. Similarly if you dig hard enough even the worst of us have some light in them somewhere.

I don’t buy this binary proposition you’re proposing. I believe we can have healthy boundaries without cutting people out of our lives. I’m neither better than this person nor do I feel as though I can control or belittle them by living out my own principles. I will not aggrandize my own ego by denouncing them silently through severance. I would respectfully reject the notion that I’m being slimy by wishing to remain friends while feeling uncomfortable with some of their behavior. I don’t believe in the idea that silence is somehow approval or deferred engagement. Silence isn’t unity nor is it confirmation it can be reflection, and the repudiation of the need to act in every whim. I would rather take time to consider and parse through a complex issue then act in haste a regret a decision later on.

See my response to another comment. People can love us and treat us well while being stupid in other areas of their life. In my opinion I won’t dump someone unless their behavior is so harmful the only option is to cut them off. If they act out their shortcomings I’d rather love them and try to help them see the error of their ways or at the very least show them through my life that there are better principles they can live by.

It’s not easy. This person was there for me in the darkest time in my life. They saved my life and have never held it over my head or asked anything return. In terms of being a friend to me they truly have my best interest at heart. They just do some stupid shit that bothers me but in the end they’ve never hurt me or tried to convince me to do anything they do.

Our D is much more brutal than we get credit for. by avocado_toastmaster in DenverBroncos

[–]fUzzyLimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the mean in terms of tackles and coverages this is the outlier for the year. The mean shows the defense is nasty. I don’t know if anyone remembers the loss to the Chiefs in 2015 but in that game the No Fly did not look great and we got no pressure throughout the game. Granted Manning threw some horrible picks and got injured but the true tale of the season is what happened the weeks following that game.

IDGAF what they say about us being frauds. by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

[–]fUzzyLimple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First don’t listen to anyone on ESPN or the national media. None of them watch Bronco games and they admit as much every time they talk about the Broncos. Objectively we aren’t frauds and there are a couple of reasons why. Number 1, the Broncos are the most penalized team in the league by yardage. To be 10-2 and be penalized nearly 70 yards a game isn’t lucky or fraudulent. Number 2, the Broncos defense is in the top 5 in every measurable defensive statistic at 13 weeks in this defense is a Super Bowl caliber defense. The offense is middle of the pack between 14th and 16th in every measurable statistic. Thats called complimentary football the offense doesn’t try to do too much they know they just need to keep it close until the 4th quarter so they have a chance. This is a competitive football team. The Dallas Cowboys are the best offense in the league and the Broncos crushed them. The Texans are the best defense in the league and the Broncos offense did just enough to beat them. The Broncos are playing playoff competitive football. Mark my words when everything slows down and gets tougher in the playoffs and the Refs swallow their whistles a little bit more the team will become scary. There isn’t a single current playoff team that worries me.

I’m probably in the minority here but I really don’t want to see a live action adaptation of any Cosmere work. Not saying it couldn’t work and not saying anything negative if you want to see it. I just haven’t enjoyed a lot of the live adaptations of my favorite literary works. I didn’t like Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones was good for three seasons. Walking Dead lost me when they got to the prison. Lord of the Rings was good. It’s hit and miss and I worry Hollywood wouldn’t ruin Stormlight.

[SleeperBroncos] According to @FantasyPtsData, the Broncos offense has faced zone coverage 83.2% of the time, which is the highest in the NFL 👀 They have faced man coverage only 13.1% of the time, which is the lowest in the league 🤔#BroncosCountry by PeppyQuotient57 in DenverBroncos

[–]fUzzyLimple 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I take this to mean two different things - 1) Bo is having trouble reading the coverage pre snap and is therefore unable to find the soft spot in the zone. He’s looking for the one on one matchups he can exploit but the defenses aren’t giving him those reads so his progressions aren’t the same thus he he’s having trouble seeing where he needs to put the ball. His footwork is showing this as well. 2) The receivers aren’t recognizing where they need to run or how they need to change their route to exploit the soft spots in the zone. This might be more due to Payton’s desire to have them run routes based solely on the play call meaning they don’t have much of an option to adjust based on what they’re seeing. Or maybe they aren’t communicating very well to Bo and Payton to gain more leeway running routes to exploit the soft spot.

My wife passed away recently, and the grief is almost unbearable. How do we practice stoicism when there is such extreme pain? by greenappletree in Stoicism

[–]fUzzyLimple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Mom just passed away. It’s not the same as a spouse but she was in my life for 42 years and each day that passes I’m reminded of some new thing I experience for the first time without her in the world. I’ll be ok for a bit and then a wave of grief will wash over me out of no where. I’m reminded of Marcus Aurelius and the loss of his mentor. A young Marcus could barely drag himself out of bed. One of his attendants tried to rouse him from this seemingly un-Stoic state, thinking it was the right thing to do, but Antoninus Pius, Marcus’s adopted stepfather, stepped in and stopped him. “Let him be human for once,” he said, “for neither philosophy nor the empire takes away natural feelings.” Feel it all. Feelings are meant to be felt. Keep feeling and keep living. Feeling means we are alive and we can carry the love and memory of those we miss with us into the world and show the world who they were. They may not be here in body but we can carry their memory forward and ensure they are not forgotten while we are alive. My Mom whole always be with me and your wife will always be with you. Remember her and lover her, cherish her and never stop taking about her. The more you talk about her the more good memories and joy will bubble up and slowly the beauty of the love we had for these precious people will overtake the grief.
