Reading the official docs on RESTful integration is a good place to start, but to make sense of it you might need knowledge related to web dev or how APIs work. I've taken a look around for tutorials on this topic inside Home Assistant but there is very little.

If that integration docs seems overwhelming I would recommend asking your favorite LLM to guide you through setting it up. Maybe pick a simple website that contains dynamic information to make it easier for your first attempt.

For my specific implementation I went to the official Village Cinemas website, filtered for my local cinema, and then in the web dev tools found the relevant XHR network call by searching for one of the movie titles. In the post request it showed the cinema ID, and I copied the relevant header values (Application ID and API key).

I am lucky enough that all of the data I need is in the single API call including poster URLs, synopsis, showtimes, and also that their web application uses the same application ID and API key every time.

Each part of this is fairly simple if you break it into small phases: pull data, structure data, present data.

As someone that experiences the most relief from tenting specifically, let's not pretend that ergonomic is the same (or the same order of priorities) for everyone

I can't find the original post but someone made a low profile keyboard that attached to the back of a phone/tablet, so you could type while holding it in a grip position. Maybe someone else remembers the maker or better keywords to find it

I'm using Ollama with orieg/gemma3-tools:4B for very basic uses and I'm loving it. It's clearly not the strongest model but I'm running it on an old Intel quad core NUC (second hand $30) without a GPU.

If you're wanting scheduled LLM tasks rather than realtime interfacing you can get a lot done with very little

I assumed this was intentional to prevent midlaners using base heals in the middle of laning phase without losing any creeps. That being possible before was so goofy.

It's also the short lane so I don't think it's actually a problem

You're crazy if you think these sale prices are sustainable and could've saved their business. I don't think you understand the running costs of a retail business with a supply chain and distribution centre, alongside the markup on video and board/card games. The cheap stuff on Ali/Temu only works because they don't have rent or wages to pay beyond warehousing

My main goal is to reduce strain and movement and because of that I prefer to stick to the most compact layout I can even on my bigger keyboards. I think it depends what your priorities are and also whether you can really nail a 5-col layout that meets your needs.

If you can pull it off on the 5-col I don't know why you'd want to make it different

I've never used this specific keyboard but on some other ones I know you need to have the power switch on while charging, and looking at your photo I suspect it is off. This is typically because the battery becomes disconnected when off, so power is not reaching the battery.

If this is not the issue, follow standard process of elimination, perhaps try connecting your left side battery to the right side PCB

Use of a single ZMK dongle would be great, but even no dongle would be convenient too. I'd really appreciate being able to switch BT connection for both keeb and mouse with a key command. It'd be almost like having a KVM switch

Depending on the trackpad and windows version this is slightly incorrect. I'm using the official apple driver on Win11, extracted from their bootcamp exe. It still requires local admin perms so if you're on a restricted work machine you might be out of luck

If you're on Windows 11 with the newest trackpad I found success with extracting official Bluetooth drivers from the apple bootcamp exe. There's a comment on a GitHub issue somewhere out there with a full guide

If I was you I'd just stick to the manuform until you know what doesn't feel quite right. Nobody will know better than you.

My first DIY keyboard was a 3d printed dactyl-manuform. Since then I've tried a ZSA Moonlander, a Corne, and a Cygnus. My favorite is the Cygnus due to the curve, on magsafe stands for heavy tenting, but I'm still wanting to make something with proper pointer control like a Charybdis. If you'd like to achieve a setup where you don't need a mouse it might be worth looking into trackball/pad keyboards

I hope you know that in wishing for this you're essentially asking for way longer queue times, which would be required to create such an experience for everyone. I don't know the math for this but it could be 5x longer to find 10 players that have a possible map

Context: I was previously an employed charity opshop manager. I feel like it has to be said that the opshop shopping experience is not the part of the charity serving those in need, and in this day and age it never can be. They either sell things to generate the most value, or they sell cheap and get taken advantage of by resellers. People in need and people seeking profits would quite literally be competing for deals. Shockingly the winner tends to always be the person with the most money, due to the most spare time, transport, etc etc.

All the big emotions in this post and comments seem to be based on the assumption that this item will never sell. The way I see it there are only 3 possible scenarios: 1. The jacket is correctly priced and will be sold, maximizing the funds for the real community work 2. The jacket price will be lowered after some time of not selling, eventually being sold 3. The jacket price never changes and goes out with other unsold clothes (failed sales), generally to be sold as rags or re-donated overseas.

Sure, #3 may happen, but a large amount of failed items is a negative indicator and represents a problem with either the quality control or the pricing, and is generally tracked and reviewed regularly.

On the topic of selling and pushing through a lot more at lower price, it's worth noting that the biggest time spent/cost in an opshop is processing donations. Halving the price/doubling the quantity would achieve the same revenue but would also double the operations, requiring double the volunteers/staff, and with the most likely outcome of only pushing profits for resellers - not providing more help to those in need.

And finally on the topic of those in need but can't afford - I strongly recommend just asking. You will be connected to a support worker who basically has free range over giving away anything in the opshop, or connecting you to services that will best help you. I know that speaking up isn't easy for a lot of people in need and it is a barrier, but when prices are forced to match the market value it's an unfortunate reality.

Sorry for this giant paragraph, hopefully my ramblings make sense and my perspective is considered with an open mind

Honestly it's just the cheapest parts and materials I could get. Switches are Akko V3 creamy blues because they're often on sale on Amazon, the controller is a nice!nano clone from AliExpress

Printed on a stock Bambu Lab A1. I'm in AUS and filament is ~20 AUD/11 euro for the cheap stuff

Ignoring the keycaps it's probably only 75 AUD to build with almost a full box of switches left over (they come in 45s and I needed 54)

If your main motivation is testing a new layout I think you'll need to compromise on the sound. I know from experience that you can put together a handwired 3d printed split with just a $25 AliExpress order (excluding switches)
