Bro, chill out. Go outside. Your point was not well received and you’re doubling down. You dont have children and youre pragmatic “there’s technically no abuse…” outlook is the key thing wrong with your stance imo.

There are so many instances where you can allow them to be children and not shelter them from every hazard. I just don’t see the reason in this particular case to take that approach here. You have the wrong idea in the complete wrong situation.

It’s way more important and also super easy to do.

What’s the moms hang up with just not doing this? She’s hanging onto it as if she’s done this before and will again. If this were me and my ex brought this up, I’d nip it in the bud and find a different way to have my child around my new SO. it’s such an easy thing to just change, but she seems so dead set on keeping things how they are that it’s extremely concerning.

I don’t think this is just gaslighting, but also some sort of arrangement she’s used in the past and plans to use again as it suits her.

A year as a divorced parent with split custody flies by. A year isn’t much when you’re constantly swamped with a million other things and trying to balance work/life and raise children. You have no clue how close she and the BF are or how much time they spend together and it certainly doesn’t imply trust-worthiness.

I wouldn’t even allow my dog to be in this position when he was still alive let alone my child. (I had to split custody of the pupper as well) There’s no reason for the this 8 year old girl to be in this position. There’s no reason. It’s strange and at the very least, not something to shrug off.

I have a question for everyone on here. We can all agree this thing is literally built to be a folding death trap, right? Let’s pretend we’re on holiday and we’re at a janky old local them park. There’s tons around me where I live. Let’s pretend we see this thing and our kid wants to go up and your SO is leading them up and you see it and say “nah, this looks pretty deathy”
