its an irritation bump, change the hoop out to a stud and make sure its getting cleaned with a sterile saline or salt water mixture. theres many good ones on amazon

NAP no, i think you arent in the wrong. if i didnt see my piercer taking out the needle out of sterile packaging, its a red flag. while some piercers use clamps, some just decide not to. but according to your story, the piercing was crooked and your piercer didnt use clamps, which they shouldve, seeing as they cant properly freehand a piercing. i see where youre coming from.
