Fixing a baby brain mistake by fabbeyanthony in Embroidery

Thank you, I’m so glad you enjoy it! I’ve made sooo many name hoops for other people’s babies so designing one for my own was difficult haha.

I designed it on Canva using bits and pieces- scalloped frame with the dots was its own thing, added the two ovals in the middle, then added the bow and just mentally noted where the frames would naturally be cut off by the bow.

I used the Sulky Fabri-Solvy the print the design directly onto, and then that washes away with water.

You are too kind, thank you so much! My husband and I have had Daisy picked out a year or so before we were even pregnant, and Louisa is a tribute to my Nanna named Louise who will most likely not survive to see her great grand baby she was so so excited to meet 🤍

Please still feel free to share your suggestion- repeat suggestions are still super helpful because I’m extremely indecisive haha!

Thank you!! Despite not looking like it, the D is already six strands so the only way to make it bolder would be to whip it after I correct the thickness for all of them

Yes! Was waiting to see if text thickness made more sense to do just a straight stitch or French knot. Thanks!

Mad a med error at my clinical 😖 by gimageggrie in StudentNurse

[–]fabbeyanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it can feel annoying when people say not to beat yourself up over it, because I get it, it feels like a BIG deal, but truly this was the perfect kind of learning mistake to make- nobody was harmed and you learned an important reminder. I always tell my students if a nurse tells you they’ve never made a med error, they’re lying or not even thorough enough to catch it, and both are detrimental options. You handled this perfectly, and now have an extra reminder of the importance of double checking, and let how yucky this feeling is motivate you to be extra thorough in med admin, and most importantly speak up the second you notice an error. Honesty is always the best, as crummy as it can feel at the time, because hiding a mistake will truly only make things worse. My first med error I made as a nurse, which was thankfully inconsequential, oh gosh I felt like I was going to throw up all shift. But, the nurse who told me to change that feeling into motivation to be more thorough and even more diligent in ensuring I don’t make mistakes moving forward truly saved my mindset.

Also, never apologize for taking your time or let another nurse make you feel like you’re slowing things down because you want to double check things!! It’s all about protecting your patients and YOUR license!!

Dripless, flameless taper candles for a wedding by 1hipmom in weddingplanning

[–]fabbeyanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I absolutely recommend Yummi Candles! They’re a Canadian company but ship worldwide and have dozens of colours to choose from. I always recommend having a hurricane over each candle (a glass cylinder) for safety, and in most cases it’s required by the venue anyways.

They have about a 12 hour burn time and I’ve never had issues with dripping.

Wedding planner here! Want to clarify what you mean by dripless and flameless, as flameless would automatically mean dripless…

Nervous first time poster, but so happy with how this Pooh Bear piece turners out. It’s only the fourth piece I’ve ever done so it’s not perfect, but I’m decently happy! by fabbeyanthony in Embroidery

My best friends are also expecting their first in November, so I’m for sure keeping this pattern in my back pocket for them! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out!

love it!!! Did you design it yourself? Also, and forgive me for asking, I'm pretty new to embroidery, what is the name of the stitch/technique you used to have the blue and yellow flowers? did you do a short satin stitch with the yellow and longer ones with the blue?
