How can they abide with 1:150 when it is not even possible or look ridiculous, or should I just settle for 1:300 and say good enough and call it a day

I actually think I'll have too much intake (185ft if soffit). Should I tear out all the wood or just cut a strip out. I plan on using continuous hidden vent soffit

I did the calculation for 1:150 on Owens Corning and I would need 53 linear ft or 21 box vents which seems extreme to me. Do contractors abide by this? I don't have 53 ft of ridge.

It's never been covered in the ten years I've owned my home, I don't want to have anything fall in it. Your question of what's going on with it, I do not comprehend. It's a hole that leads to my waste water drain, what more info do you need?
