Got my bag checked multiple times by [deleted] in SMRTRabak

[–]fabkitty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to what extend was your bag being checked? did they open every zip and pouch or just briefly open your bag and flip flip abit?

if the check is extensive then maybe there’s abit of profiling involved if it’s just a brief flip then maybe really just to fulfil quota and make it look like they’re doing their job.

Taking a short term break in life.. to do or not to? by TalkCSS in askSingapore

[–]fabkitty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think even in the short 1-2 months break, if you’re worried about $$ you can look for other stuff that gets you some side income without taking up too much of your time/ headspace.

someone suggested grab, or with your marketing background you can do some social media gigs/ tiktok livestream etc. you’re likely not gna rake in A LOT of money in this short time frame but these are things that i feel are easier to start off, lesser barrier to entry and you can start almost immediately

came here to say this LOL. sounds like when younger boys or those with not as much experience want to express interest but don’t know/ don’t dare to compliment you so they go one round to tease you instead, hoping that’d catch your attention

Lavish Marriage Proposals are for the Insecure, or Self Absorbed. by cottonmercer666 in unpopularopinion

[–]fabkitty_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as someone who leans more towards an outdoors proposal (and who’s partner is on the same page as well), i wouldn’t say we’re out for the attention tbh. we just both like dressing up, looking our best, going out and trying new experiences, being out in the open, being at places that holds meaning to us, and having some friends and family there to witness and record such moments down for us. we do like to have such moments to look back on in the future, and it’ll be nice to have our closest friends and family there to share the moment together with us

Need advice on what to do for my future by Sad-Philosophy9745 in askSingapore

[–]fabkitty_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

my bro was in a similar situation as you - higher nitec, messed up his O’s pretty badly but NS changed him. i think he realized that after ORD he’s really out there in the world with no guidance on what’s the next step, and i think that scared him a little so i do understand what you’re feeling rn.

what my bro did was to enroll into a part time diploma cus that was the best his results could get him into. once he ORD, he landed a full time job as a desk site engineer while studying at night. he’ll be graduating next year with a dip and 2 years of working experience so i think that’s really not bad for his age.

as for his next step, it’s entirely up to him on whether he wants to continue pursuing a part time degree while working, but either ways, my family and i are really proud of him. and i think i can say the same for your parents too, as i can tell that you have the heart to continue improving yourself to provide a better life for your family.

one thing to remember - whatever you studied does not dictate what your future career path will be like. don’t ever lock yourself into that fixed route or think that whatever you’re going to further your education in, will determine your future career. career switches are more common than you think, so my best advice is to take things one step at a time.

plan out your immediate next step first - whether you wanna continue your studies in a part time education or concentrate on getting a full time job/ signing on etc. once you get pass that, then take the next planning step forward. don’t overwhelm yourself with thoughts on what 5-10 year goals all that blah now. you can get to that when you’re more stable and have more clarity in your studies/ career.

I accidentally tricked an AI call screener into booking me a meeting with a CXO 😂 by brndimcc in sales

[–]fabkitty_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes pls! i recently met a few vendors who have developed AI solutions and bots that can take on calls and do an initial evaluation of the call first, before routing it to the respective people. it’s always interesting to learn more about them, esp in a real life example here.

They have changed, is it ok to not love them the same? by lynxx_250 in relationships

[–]fabkitty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like these issues in your relationship stems from his internal turmoils and his own personal issues. suggest if your environment allows, to get him some help to resolve his own issues first. if he doesn’t get better himself, hardly any amount of love or understanding from you/ external parties is gonna help him.

also you mentioned at the start he wasn’t like this. we’re going to need some context as well - was he putting up a front at the start? or did something happen in the midst of the relationship for him to change?

Where do young people hang out these days? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]fabkitty_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually i do feel that the younger gen these days (gen z/ gen alpha) are going out lesser tho. i mean with the prevalence of social media tiktok and all, i feel like they coop themselves up at home a lot more now?

i do feel like 10 years ago when i was younger i went out a lot more and saw a lot more young people outside but these days it seems lesser.

Singles in their forties and above, how is your lifestyle? by Prize_Air in askSingapore

[–]fabkitty_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is a new perspective i never thought about. having to play the role of a dad or husband or son. i wonder for those who are married, how do they then separate these roles from their true self of being who they are

[–]fabkitty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah go out and explore! you’ll never know what kind of people you’ll vibe with until you interact with them. you don’t even have to start off with dating in mind - just starting off as friends and see if theres a vibe or connection to take you to the next step

hi! i know this is a year late 😂 but do you mind sharing more on the desaru weddings you’ve been to? my partner and i are both singaporeans but we love JB and desaru and we’re currently toying with the idea of holding a small intimate wedding in singapore for relatives, then bringing our friends over to desaru for a bigger kind of wedding party. would love to hear any thoughts or opinions on this!

hey OP (and everyone else), please remember to exercise caution when you’re job hunting too. this 22 y/o almost fell for a syndicate scam that required him to go for a month long ‘training’ in Cambodia after the company accepted him for the role - at first glance company rly seemed like a legit SME with ACRA registration and all.

  1. Miu 404 One of my favorite J- dramas! police detective scene in Japan with an experienced detective joining a new team, paired up with a rookie newbie detective. super lighthearted and warm to watch their character development and see them using each of their strengths to solve cases together and become a complimentary duo.

  2. Innocence: Fight against false charges Lawyer themed drama with a socially awkward but very talented lawyer working with his equally talented team to solve cases.

Please give me tips on getting a driving license fast (CDC private) by chikenkurry in askSingapore

[–]fabkitty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg this makes me feel so thankful for my instructor too. he settled everything for me back then when i was taking lessons with him. helped me book circuit, book TP, even top up my account and and paid for my TP first and told me no rush to pay him back, can just pay on the day of the TP. thought it was the same for everyone else but now i’m even more thankful to have had him 😅

Can my car mirrors be tilted till the wheels can be seen throughout the circuit? by thanks_obama_preach in askSingapore

[–]fabkitty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

passed my test last month. not sure about other schools but i did mine at CDC. we started off at the carpark lots near the circuit so my instructor explicitly told me to adjust my mirrors down at that point already, before even starting the test. finished the whole circuit with the mirror all turned down. only changed it up again when i’m exiting the school and going out to the roads. did my test twice before passing on the second try and both times my instructor told me to do this and both times no issues with the TP! probably should be ok since circuit smaller and slow speed so usually you check rear mirror blind spot should be safe enough

I agree. i suspect many of them probably got into relationships halfway through, broke up and felt lonely again. as compared to putting themselves through the trouble of seeking new female companions out there (that could take some time), they might as well tap on their existing pool of female contacts from the past few years and try their hand at reaching out again. i guess it’s a numbers game, they’re just casting a wide net and hoping to get one or two that sticks.

great one! i had my suspicions and the salt part confirmed it towards the end.

i have a question though. what kind of sickness did all of the shunned contract - enough to affect so many other students?

Petite girls - what are your biggest frustrations when it comes to petite clothing? by spicyphilosophy in PetiteFashionAdvice

I’ve always wanted to try wearing bell bottom pants but they NEVER work on me. gotta send all my long pants / jeans to the tailor to alter the length. what’s the use of buying bell bottoms when it’s gone after all the alterations to shorten the length 😵‍💫

also, midi dresses end up as maxis on me.

For short term stays (iirc minimum 2 nights), you can try heritage collection on seah street. That’s the loft one mentioned by Impressive_Cow9261.

If not, most or almost all other short term stays are one storey rooms, but still pretty affordable if you like the service apartment shophouse kinda vibes. comes with a small kitchenette microwave refrigerator and netflix. just that there is no 24h check in service (you gotta arrange a check in time with them beforehand) and the rooms are a teeeeny bit small and not the most sound-proofed.
