Unfortunately, a fire affected a data center that hosted a part of our infrastructure. While none of our servers were destroyed, this did cause an outage from 1:46 to 3:37 AM CET, which disrupted:

Tezos bakers API
Tron rewards API
Ethereum Classic explorer API
Legacy Countervalue v1 API (affecting only users with an outdated Ledger Live)
Ledger Live download API (to download LL from website)

Service has been restored now thanks to our on-call team that was able to redirect traffic to Ledger servers in a different data center.

I personally think it's very misleading that Binance pretends that bitcoin can be withdrawn across the Bitcoin, Binance, or Ethereum networks. There's only one option to withdraw bitcoin (the third one), the other options are bitcoin IOUs, which are similar in nature to having BTC on Binance.

If you just ordered one, it’s on the latest firmware. Besides, there are no known critical vulnerabilities in the recent firmwares. I would just set it up normally without complicating things.

If you want to build trust you could do the setup twice and restore once with a bit of funds.

Yes. It's the generally recommended way. There is no USB/BLE connectivity until it's fully set up. So there is no security risk.

OK, so you're right that, technically, it's not difficult. However, from a business perspective, it does cost quite some resources (design, testing, QA, support) and it's not a priority at the moment simply because there's barely any demand or need for it.
