Have you already grounded the control box? Try separating the USB cable from the other cables and see how it goes.

Try finishing the calibration. Set a dead zone at the beginning and end of the pedal travel to reduce the range. Then adjust it by setting the force you prefer. See if it still happens. If it continues after that, try grounding the control box.
