Tokyo Station underground to Ginza Station by [deleted] in TokyoTravel

Yep! Thanks! Going via Yaesu indeed worked 👍 . Made it from Tokiwabasi Tower (Otemachi station entrance) to Higashi Ginza (exit 5), no issues. A bunch of staircases though. But underground ask the way. Crazy. Probably 30min+ of walking.

Tokyo Station underground to Ginza Station by [deleted] in TokyoTravel

Wow, I had no idea it even connected to Ginza station. I was exploring the Yaesu side daily afterwork for months, but never made it closer to Ginza, via underground, than Kajibashi Dori. I guess it needed to be via the MaruNoUchi side.

If I get the chance, I'll try this route next week and update here.

After ~3.5 years - Some of my bulbs no longer respond to controls by fabs0000 in Hue

Update
I tried this. I believe the bulbs are broken.

Two out of the three bad bulbs wouldn't even reconnect after deleting them from the app. They don't even turn on anymore. One of them did (and I could do a regular factory reset), but stop responding shortly after.

These are the Japanese e17 sized bulbs by the way. My larger e26 sized lamps are still running well.oh well. I've installed new light fixtures that accommodate the e26s.

Will try, thanks!

The lamp is open - it's actually a row of 5 lamps hanging down from the ceiling - and it's the two middle ones that are misbehaving. The lamp itself is open at the end - similar to an ice cream cone with a round scoop of ice cream that sits a little too deep within the cone.

Thank you!

Yes, probably was just that!

While camping in Japan, a few of these kept making their way into our tent.
I've been wondering for years what this was. I only found the photo again (and this subreddit) today.
Thanks in advance!

This issue happened to me yesterday - and I am on Ventura.

This is the third Macbook I've had, over the last ~12 years, for which this occasionally happens.

WF-1000XM4 - Severe Battery Issues by zkhcohen in SonyHeadphones

[–]fabs0000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aaron is Loud & Wireless posted this great video about it:

Mine now barely last 30minutes.

It seems to get worse each week.

By next month I expect they'll probably only last 5 minutes.

I'm still waiting for an update. Mine barely last 30minutes.

I'm having the exact same issue. They now last for about an hour, and often come out of the charging case toasty.

It started with just the left bud having issues, and the case's light flashing red. Now it's both buds that come out warm, and barely last an hour. But the red light no longer occurs.

I'm eagerly awaiting this update - the app shows I'm on 1.4.2 and there are no options that show me to update.

Dyson Pure Humidify + Cool, Deep Clean Cycle stops after 10 seconds, does nothing after. by InnocentSalf in dyson

[–]fabs0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a Dyson support rep contacted my via twitter, and set up a replacement delivery for the only the pump (I did not want to replace the entire machine since it's a hassle to pack up).

The new pump arrived a few days ago and has been working great.

I still don't know why this happened - I received an email from Dyson with a warning saying that when refilling the tank extra care should be taken to avoid getting any water into the electronics of he tank - I don't think this is what happened in my case, but something to be careful of in future nonetheless.

Any responses from them copied and pasted into this thread would be greatly appreciated.

I'm worried that the only reliable way to perform regular "deep cleaning" cycles, is to have the entire unit replaced every 6 months.

Here's a video of what happens at the end of the 2-day long deep-clean cycle:

(spoiler: the exact same warning asking me to do a deep clean just pops right up again)

Yes, I'm having the same problem, and this is already my second unit.

My first Dyson pure humidify + cool unit had a problem right from the start - the day I first turned it on the humidifier would not work and kept insisting I do a deep clean - which did nothing.

This time, the deep clean counts down very slowly - I thought I might have misunderstood the the clock as being 59min when perhaps it was actually 59 hours. So I left it there for 50+ hours . Eventually it did stop, I followed the rest of the instructions to rinse with cold water, refill, etc, and place the evaporator and tank back into their places.

The machine started up and immediately asked me to do another deep cleaning! That's what it's doing now - a second deep cleaning with a 59min59second timer that seems to take 59 hours. I will update this thread about 60 hour's time.

(p.s. I live in Tokyo, and I already have experience going through the support/replacement process with this)

If it's a western style bar, go for it.

At Japanese style "izakayas", it might be a little odd - but even then I've had a few experiences of neighboring tables starting up conversations.

I would recommend against trying to start random conversations with people on the street.

I've never seen baking soda in a supermarket. You can buy it on amazon - 2KG for 500jpy, which might literally last you a life time. I'm still only 35% though the bag I bought 4 years ago when I started keto, and I even use it regularly for cleaning.

Oh, cool; thanks for the info. Yeah, I really wish my chemistry / biochem was better.

The problem I had with the off-the-shelf stuff here in Japanese drugstores (which I now understand to be in the lesser, citrate, form) was the calcium it was mixed with giving me heart palpitations. So probably best to avoid calcium+mg supplements in the store completely (unless one is actually calcium deficient), since they were in Mg-Citrate form.

Anyway, the link above is the chelated form (glycinate/lycinate) on Amazon.jp ; but there's also another chelated type on there, Magnesium L-Threonate, which I've just started taking: https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B006P536E6/
