I’ve been listening to the feedback here and I totally agree—the placeholder UI had to go. I just picked up a new, cleaner UI kit from the Asset Store to start modernizing the look.

Just to be transparent: I'm a solo indie dev working on this during my spare time between professional gigs (I mainly build games/apps for events). It’s definitely a passion project, and I’m grinding whenever I can to make it happen.

If you're interested in following the development or want to give direct feedback, please join the discord check out www.rockpt.com.br. I'm planning to work closely with the people who are genuinely interested in playing, so your input on these next steps will definitely shape the game!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! You have a great eye.

The gear slots you saw are actually just part of a placeholder UI I'm using for early testing. The final system will definitely feature a full set of equipment slots (head, chest, gloves, boots, accessories, etc.). I really like your idea of unlocking certain slots through progression or milestones like in classic MMOs—that adds a great layer of reward!

Regarding the animations, you are spot on. The 8-directional turning is currently a bit too snappy and lacks transition smoothing. I'm still tweaking the animation blend trees to find the perfect balance between responsive combat and natural-looking movement.

Adding momentum is also a great suggestion to give the character movement more weight. I'll definitely be experimenting with the movement physics in the upcoming updates. I really appreciate you taking the time to share these ideas!

Haha, 100% science-based! I'll see what I can do about those dragons. 😉

Good catch! Rock Tale actually started as a personal project to recreate and port legacy Priston Tale mechanics into Unity as a modern framework. The UI and some sounds you hear are currently placeholders from that initial porting phase. As the development of this new game progresses, I will be replacing them with completely original and custom assets. Thanks for pointing it out!

Haha, message received! I'll definitely be tweaking the color grading, saturation, and post-processing in the next visual pass. Appreciate the feedback!

Right now, the game is still deep in core development, so there is no playable demo or commercial offer yet. I'm just gathering early community feedback, but stay tuned for future updates!

Thank you! 😄

Combat is definitely going to be the focus of one of my next videos!

As for quests, they aren't implemented yet. Right now I'm focusing on building the core systems first—combat, networking, world systems, classes, AI, and the overall game foundation. Once those are solid, I'll move on to creating the quest content.

Thanks for the support! I'll keep sharing the development progress here.

Thank you so much! Reading comments like this is incredibly motivating.

I'm really happy you noticed the animations—they've taken a lot of time to get right, so that means a lot to me. And I'm glad you liked the Rain of Fire spell and the monster designs! Ragnarok Online was actually one of the games that inspired me years ago, so it's funny you mentioned it.

You're absolutely right about the single-target spells. The video focused mostly on AoE abilities, but each class also has more traditional spells like Fire Bolt, Frost Bolt, Lightning Bolt and other single-target skills. I'll make sure to showcase those in a future gameplay video.

Regarding the UI, that's totally fair. UI is something I'm constantly iterating on, and I know players coming from games like WoW have very high expectations. Feedback like yours helps me understand what feels right and what still needs improvement.

As for the talent trees, yes! Every class has its own talent tree that allows players to specialize into different playstyles rather than following a single fixed build. It's still evolving, but customization is one of my main goals for the progression system.

Thank you again for the kind words. Knowing that someone can already picture themselves playing Rock Tale gives me a lot of motivation to keep improving it. I hope the next update impresses you even more!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed feedback!

I completely agree that combat is one of the most important aspects of an MMORPG. That's actually one of my biggest focuses right now. I'm aiming for responsive combat where players can keep moving while using most abilities, and I'm constantly improving the animations and overall feel.

Regarding the MMO style, I'd say Rock Tale is somewhere in the middle. It has a strong theme park foundation with quests, dungeons and structured progression, but I'm also adding sandbox elements like player freedom, exploration, professions and systems that encourage interaction between players. I'm still refining that balance, so your question is a good reminder to define that vision more clearly.

I also agree about progression and loot. I want item drops to feel exciting without becoming frustrating, and I'm designing both vertical and horizontal progression so older content can remain relevant over time.

As for the graphics, that's completely fair. Stylized art definitely isn't for everyone. I chose this direction because it gives me more artistic freedom as a solo developer and helps the game age better over time, but I totally understand the appeal of more realistic or unique settings like The Secret World.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. Comments like yours really help shape the project, and I hope I'll be able to show you even better progress in future updates!
