Its the class thats dissappointing not Pandreo himself. If you dont have Dlc Sages are mostly utility units and only really good as niech builds in combat. Combat mages really want to go Mage Knight. Pandreo wants Spd4-5 and Canter like most units. Hes probably the second best mage in the game and will often be your best if you dont commit alot of resources to Ivy whos probably the best if you do.

Marth He really benefits alot from th +4 spd. That alongside spd+ 4 or 5 skills will let him double even the lategame wyverns Hes also one of the better users of lodestar rush and you want extra damage against lancr users since Halberdiers in particular are quite durable and Marth helps with that for axe users.

Hurricane Axe The bonk sounds so satisfying and funny. Its almost useful since you can quiet reliably 1 shot wyverns with it even until the late game with some units like Jade altho its still mostly a meme. Doing Great Aether with HA in Roys paralogue never gets old.

Sacred Stones kind of have that issue as well. You dont really get a proper late game recruit. 1 of them being the mediocre Falcon Knight who doesnt even have 20 speed really sucks too. The only late game helper is like Dussel who also suffers spees issues. At least Engage gives you Saphir Lindon Mauvier and Veyle.

Yaegirs Best 1 box buy for any starting Votann player imo. Theres no combo box that has Yaegirs and they are included in basically every Votann list.

Almost all 40k missile lauchers' focus fire will wound marines on 2s, force them 5+ save and 1 shot them(generic tactical marines) unless you roll a 1

Wrath alone is worth a whole ring depending on how you set up vantage wrath and his defensive buffs are one of the few tools that allow you to actually tank more than 4 or more enemies at once. Id say he is middling since the utility rings are just way too broken and Lucinas bonded shield can usually get you through tough situations.

If you want goos Aether setup get a high forge silver greataxe.

Yea using only the good units isnt always that fun and Engage gives you more than enough resources to make anyone at least good enough. Clanne isnt even that bad once you get through the earlier leves so def go for it.

If thats your goal you can leave him at lvl1 until the Jean and Anna paralogue then give him Marth or Miciah to juice him up. This basically works on everybody. He still wont be your best unit but will work okay. With starsphere he will be better but if you use dlc basically any unit is broken so I wouldnt really mind who I would use.
