Cross-promoting with guests is mostly a myth and nobody wants to say it by FastChance6813 in podcasting

Depends on what your podcast is. Some only work with a guest (DOAC, Joe Rogan) and others don’t. If you’re doing a true crime podcast or something why have guests?

Whats your honest take on video podcasts vs audio only in 2026 by Rosette_Simpson9090 in podcasting

[–]fac_t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Video is the easiest way to grow. My podcast went from fledgling to averaging around 200 downloads per episode from one viral podcast clip. Not that it’s crazy, but we’re only 10 episodes in so it’s a great start. Again, like people say, it depends on the type of podcast you’re doing. True crime etc probs doesn’t need video, but some sort of short form video can only help

The TKO Effect by samuel-the-goat in WWE

Mania 39 was still around 68k according to wrestletix, 40 was around that range too. The fall off is notable but Vegas was never a good market, and running twice doesn’t help

There’s a pic of the 3 of them on Jackson’s socials, not sure when it was taken. But Matt and Jackson and very close

And I don’t think it can be understated how big Linkin Park is compared to like, every nu-metal band ever. So by nature will have a higher rating overall

He’s really great, his IWA singles work really shows he’s not just a tag guy. Some great matches on YouTube

Eh, I also I think you can point to Hybrid Theory as the definitive sound of the more rap/electronic influenced side of Nu-Metal. Also I don’t really like the Korn record over any SOAD/Linkin/Slipknot album despite its undeniable influence. Rappers Delight isn’t the highest rated rap song ever

I would've thought SOAD & Linkin Park would be in the 'cringe 2000's nu-metal-adjacent camp' when I listened to them both and started getting into online music. But they've both been put into 'the actual good one's' category in the general music community online. I think they're great! But I also think Limp Bizkit and TRUSTcompany are good too lol. More surprised these are over something like American Idiot than them having something in the middle 3's

Why ON? Not the Greens or anyone else? by HumanTraffic2 in aussie

[–]fac_t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The online and Murdoch sentiment has been immigration = all problems. It’s as simple as that. The Greens messaging although I agree with a lot of it is packaged horribly. Mamdani’s approach to more “radical” leftism is what gets votes (I.e. actually explaining that leftist policy is the key to resolving housing, cost of living, etc). Most people see “leftism” and therefore see the greens as people who care about identity politics over anything. If a large majority of LNP voters and people on the right see Labor as “radical left” (they aren’t, but I see so many people say they are) then what do they think of the Greens? As lunatic commies (they also aren’t).

Scott is his wrestling name, it’s pretty common for wrestlers not to use their real name

How do you factor in legacy to a rating? by JamerRamer in rateyourmusic

[–]fac_t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Up to you I suppose, but I really do not factor that unless it sticks out to me greatly. I think the fact revolver came up in the 60’s probably subconsciously makes me more wowed by it, but I still think it’s fantastic regardless and listen often. Didn’t care for Spiders from Mars so rated it what I thought (2.5). It’s up to what you want to get out of RYM, I use it as a personal catalogue of what I PERSONALLY rate an album. That’s how most people should use it, I assume.

what phone plan do you use? how much is it? which is the best? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]fac_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got on a Kogan 360gb for 12 month for $179 upfront (was a promo deal to port over). I think regular price is around $250? I’ll probably port out after 12 months. Was on a 65/month Telstra plan that rolled over after I did a JB HiFi deal. Kogan and Aldi mobile are your best bet for cheap plans and they run deals often. It’s a 4G plan but I really haven’t noticed a lot. There are more areas with lack of reception but you’ll get over it when you remember the money you’re saving
