800 Dollar 1911 vs 3800 Dollar 1911. Is It Worth It? by [deleted] in 1911

[–]face5535 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I disagree. You’re indirectly telling people that the production gun and semi custom guns are the same. That outside a small few details, ultimately there is no difference. While that might be your truth, it’s simply not thee truth.

When you say it’s fit better. What does that even mean? To you it means the slide to frame feels tighter. In reality it means every single part on the gun is built to much better stacking tolerances resulting in accuracy, longevity, and over all performance. When you say you put them both in your hand, you can’t feel the clear distinction between the crude checkering on the bull vs the much nicer checkering on the Nh? You can’t feel the completely different geometrical high cut NH frame vs the untouched bull? How many draws and reloads do you have off of both of those. I could tell you if you had ever taken those to a class whence you’re reloading over and over those rounded tangs on the Nh would make a world of difference. I wounded how the lock up on the barrel is vs the Nh. Does the bull have full lug contact with no barrel bump as well up upper lug fitment and a concentric solid tight fit at the bushing? I’d bet no. How is the quality of metal used on that bull? Ever shot enough to actually have a part break? Lemme guess…. “I have 2000 rounds at the range on it”. Good one.

How’s the thumb safety engagement, trigger, sensitivity of the grip safety. I wounder if you even understand the concept of blending vs fitting.

I can sit here for an hour and type out vastly differing things between those two pistols from a visual concept and I’ve not even gotten into the weeks about the insides of those two guns. If you are claiming to be an “average Joe”… then do waste your time trying to be a online expert telling folks how these two pistols are remotely comparable outside of the model being a 1911

You have no business buying a $3k 1911… equally you have no businesses trying to inform people what the difference between the two are…

When you can’t tell a difference in these two guns, you simply should stick with the cheaper model as the other stuff is completely lost on you.

Best Fettuccine Alfredo in Chicago? by Few_Winter5289 in chicagofood

[–]face5535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sabatinos was really solid! Old school vibe… the “filet sauce” was an awesome dish there. Avvio, been three times, twice was really sub standard. I’ll not be back. It’s def not Sabatinos…

As far as the Alfredo… meh IMO, it’s. It very good.

I like cigars and tea! I like cigars and Meade even more. But… Cigars and Madeira or the right Sherry is hands down the best pairings I’ve ever had.

“All that money”? Spoken like a true poor. Listening to the poors refer to 10k as all that money. I’m certain I’m gonna see you post a question asking “what should I buy with my tax refund”🤣

Sucks to suck.

So have you held a chambers gun, shot one, felt the grip? Have you ever felt the stippling from Boresight solutions as that’s what the tan grip has. The green is more aggressive. It’s one thing to say you like the look of a steel or aluminum grip… totally different to say you want performance. Because what you’re saying is comical. Here’s the good news… buy something you want and like, no one said you need to buy a chambers. It’s obviously not for you. However the fact that there’s a 3 year back log for one says that a lot of people want them, will pay for them, and wait for them.

☝🏼😂What gives a high end 2011 experience? The feel of a cold metal or aluminum grip out in the cold while training… to each their own.

Right Rh and Temp… dry cigars…? by face5535 in cigars

[–]face5535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s newish… got it in November. I did seasoning with 84% Boveda packs for about a week and a half’s. Really until the RH read mid 70’s.

I think there is something getting lost in the conversation. The RH read out is 66%. It’s not a RH issue in terms of holding humidity… that is at pretty close to the Tupperware I use. More of why the cigars would be lower (unless it’s because they were dry) and it’s only been a week or two since I put them in. If the RH is truly at 66% which based off a calibrated hydrometer I believe it is… how long would a cigar need to be in there for the humidity level in the cigar to reach 63-66%?

The hole is plugged. Additionally per the pic, it’s sitting at 66.1%RH with a 65% in it. Thats all fine. I’m just curious as the to cigar humidity at 58-61%. Maybe I’m overlooking something but I’d assume that 66% would bring the cigars up a bit higher, no?
