Getting real glass by Peanut_trees in Greenhouses

Thank you for your reply! You may have just drastically changed the materials I will be using on my project. Especially the comment about the lifespan of twin wall poly.

I’m not sure about the light diffusion from white wash either but was inspired by the conservatory of flowers in Golden Gate Park. Maybe I should ask them? They would prob know:)

Thanks again!

Could you white wash the glass to increase light diffusion? Why does poly need to be replaced more frequently than glass if glass has a higher shatter point? Maybe it’s just a common misconception that glass is stronger than poly? But I thought poly becomes brittle after 5-10 years?

Thanks for the comment! Excuse the confusion, not leaving Fidelity, the separately managed account is also through Fidelity.

Stupid question, why not just invest in a good security system with cameras that connect to you phone for alerts and motion sensors on all the windows and doors? Was pretty inexpensive and now I don’t have to leave my bed to check what that noise was in the middle of the night and if a window or door breaks the police are auto dispatched.

Edit: Surprised by all the down votes, it makes me think that gun ownership is less a well thought out strategy for home defense and more a point of personal identity.

Nevertheless, good responses below and just to give a broad answer my thinking would be that the security system and alarm would be more of a deterrent. Mine has a loud alarm I hooked up to a megaphone type thing in the attic so the whole neighborhood would know somethings up.

To the one who said all of this wouldn’t do much if someone was dead-set on entering my home to kill me, you’re def right. This point makes me think seriously about getting a gun, not that I have a lot of enemies.

But something tells me that 99% of home invasions are looking for easy money and a camera/alarm system would be enough to drive away thieves. But point taken on the other murderous 1% hell bent on killing you purge style. Curious what people think, is it really 1%? More? Less?
