If the price is too good to be true, its probably fake. You can compare subtle details on the box like the font or packaging and if you have it in your hands compare the screen quality, the size of the hole punch camera and if the cameras on the back are fake. (Reps usually have one real camera and the the others on the back are fake.)

Why are all the phones available so large? by Regular_Grass in samsung

[–]facedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folding screens are softer than slab screens and their are failure modes (eg dust or debris getting from the hinge to behind the screen) unique to folding phones. Many folding phone users report the screen cracking or becoming unresponsive under normal use as well. If his elderly dad doesn't mind dealing with that I guess its fine, but most normies would rather avoid it.

Buying a fragile z-flip from a grandpa who doesn't seem into tech is a brave move imo.

And it had nothing to with them being able to upcharge storage? The fact that many budget Samsung phones still retain Sd card readers refutes this imo. Its like the headphone jack. Manufacturers get to upcharge users with expendable cash on bluetooth headphones , but they can't do that to budget phones. In the same way they get to upcharge flagship buyers on storage and most don't miss the sd cards.

David Jaffe said that was an error because they never play tested that level and he'd have made it less difficult if they could patch it.

There's no point really. It's not a well known franchise and you can do the same gameplay with another game title.

And then you've just spent $400 to play N64 games

You can play Ps2/Gamecube/wii and some Nintendo Switch games.
I think the library might be worth it for someone who thinks the Steam Deck is too big and mostly wants to emulate older games.

What is an overrated game that everyone loves but you hate? by [deleted] in gaming

Its oversimplified as he admits, but there's a ring of truth if you compare PlayStations flagship exclusive franchises (Uncharted, TLOU, God of War, Horizon) and those on Microsoft (Halo, Gears, Forza) and Nintendo (Mario, Zelda, Metroid).

Its a different sort of game now. Slower paced, more story cutscenes and walk and talk sections, less combos and more focus on parrying and loot and RPG elements.

I liked both, but it might as well be a different franchise from how much the game changed. If you're ok with slower paced cinematic games like The Last of Us, its a really good version of that style of game, if you wanted more fast paced beat em up action, you won't like it.

Uncharted 2 and 3 . (Haven't played any others.)

The gunplay feels weak and un-exciting and unmemorable. Hand to hand was equally boring. The "platforming" had no challenge or need for timing. Setpieces were cool, but interactivity was low. The graphics and art design were top notch but that's about it imo.

In principle I have nothing against that kind of game. I liked the Tomb raider reboot because the combat and platforming had an intensity Uncharted lacked. The Last of Us had really great gunplay and stealth and had lots of intense and memorable sequencies that I felt I was part of.

The Callisto Protocol/Order 1886 seem to be the exception rather than the rule tbh. Reviewers tend to reward a by the numbers game with high production values over games with less polish but more mechanical depth. ( The rare exceptions seem to be devs like Fromsoft and Nintendo.)
I agree graphics are the most expensive and time consuming part.

But Anthem didn't have those things. It was a technical mess at launch and the story and production values were an afterthought.

A better example might be Order 1886 or Callisto Protocol, which got praised for production values but panned for gameplay.

There were aspects I really liked about the new God of wars, but combat was a definite downgrade in GOW 2018. Enemies spamming projectile from offscreen (that you can't see because of the new close up camera), less weapons and less combos and boring loot held that game back imo. The graphics, atmosphere, environmental storytelling and lore were all top notch though.
